Memo From The Chair

Hello Everyone, I have finally got out of those floods here in Rockhamton, and what a mess.

scratchy; I have have the same problem, Jerker has got a few things of mine including my Q.G.R Main Southern Route {Warwick- Wallangarra+Amiens Branch line}. I have got no response since he was admitted into hospital. He got out in the clear but i have not hear a word since. I guess he will come back when he is ready, so patience my friend. :) I really like your shots.

Mulie; just amazing. A sure fire download.

Now a shot of my long-awaited Q.G.R BLV 1076 {offically my first carriage}, it is currently an underframe at the moment. Body will proceed later on, and here she is going under construction in the Ipswich Workshops Carriage Section

Doesn't look too EU at all, looks right at home in Sydney or Melbourne!

Hi Mark,

Kyogle double track matter see http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=64965&highlight=kyogle

The Casino double platforms were for the Brisbane Limited and the Murwillumbah MotoRail southbound to exchange passengers. The BNE Limited was faster and went ahead of the MotoRail south of Casino and did only limited stops. The MotoRail was just about all stations if required. Both trains at Casino together southbound. The MotoRail was the Gold Coast MotoRail and later the Pacific Coast MotoRail. NSW MotoRails had the capital letter "R" in the middle of the word.

Pete,
Just a curiousity, why is Casino-Kyogle double track? It's just unusual as it was never double track.

Also out of curiousity, what era/year was the Casino station layout? It's interesting with the double platform.Mark

Thanks for the new modules Mulie. Quality gear as we come to expect! ... though I'll keep my current theme of Camden Line trains going.

I find this a bizarre looking working, but is typical of the Coalies that ran from Narellan to Campbelltown after 1957. Certainly not a loco captured often on the Forums here...

A little more traditional of Camden trains without goods loading. Today, and additional FO has been added to the usual CCA car to cater for some extra patronage.

In addition to what I wrote below, other trains of an earlier era before the MotoRail also met the Brisbane trains at Casino so the use of the double platforms at Casino predates the MotoRail which was introduced in March 1973.

Pete,

Also I would be interested in doing from Acacia Ridge to the border to marry up with you route at some point. That is if anyone has DEM data for this section?

Mark

Hi Mullie,

I love your last screenshot. What trees are those please?

Everyday we see some great screenshots, keep it up everyone. I just wish I was as talented with textures.

I love a sunburnt country...

Some panoramic views of Flinder Plains. I may upload this module over the course of the weekend... trying to work out non-DLS items is the irritation right now.

Focus of this set is on the landscape and town rather than the trains.

From behind the turning wye and reservoir...

A couple more full sized snaps from the top of the local radio antenna mast... the photographer had some explaining to do to local authorities after this stunt. Fortunately he was allowed to keep his pics...

We do see a T Class preparing to depart on a mixed service... NM Class shunting some open wagons... and a "mostly hidden" Garratt...

The complete NSW curve and gradient diagrams, including to Roma St QLD, Version 2.0 July 1999 is at http://www.railcorp.info/commercial/network_access

Look for #4 down the right hand side. The file is 30 MB in size.
Other items on that page might interest you as well.

Re the confusion about the Peters. I am Peter Cokley [Petan] www.petan.net but I can understand the confusion between Peter C with Peter G [Gibbons] the gifted creator of the Casino rail routes.

Last few screenshots by me, have been merely to experiment with the wonderful payware grasses and trees by Mcguirrel, who done the Ultra Trees. The last ones are her payware grasses and ghost gum trees, which are very easy on framerates, whilst looking very nice indeed. If people are interested you can find the relevant information in the payware forums, and for the prices, I think it was a good purchase - albeit, I can't exactly release these small modular 'scenes' as people may not have mcguirrel's trees/grasses, so they'd get a lot of 'missing assets'.

*edit* My last two modules, inadvertantly featured Mcguirrel's payware grasses and such, and this was purely unintentional - I didn't realise it, and shall release a 'modified' version, without the payware items included. I apologise to any who have downloaded the route, and gotten 'missing dependencies'.

Now, for my latest 'project' a three board modular NSWGR North/South oriented livestock loading facility.
