Australian screenshots

I hope so Evan,
Great shots Raichase
Do your KM Posts show how many K's exactly??
Jamie

G'day Jamie,

As my route is fictional, I bashed in a random number on the numpad (943). Realising that wouldn't work, I changed it to somewhere in the 200km range, and went with it. I'm measuring out 500m using the ingame ruler to put down km and half km posts at the appropriate places. Obviously as the Trainz ruler doesn't go around curves, it's not going to be accurate down to the metre, but it's pretty close, and as far as little touches go, it works well. I guess if I wanted to be pedantic, I could use the trains odometer and measure it out precisely, but I'm not that hardcore! Thanks for the kind words :).

Hi guys.

Raichase, the route looks good. Not to sure about your naming of towns though. That may need some work.:hehe:

Forest_Runner, nice work! You've certainly got that outback feel going.

Matt.

This is where the ability to place some objects while in driver would be very handy. You could drive a loco with the HUD showing and stop to place mile posts at the right distance.

Ssh, don't say that too loudly! Some us used to photograph nothing BUT V-Sets on a section of line that looks a lot like that in the screenshots. Some us would sit there waiting all day for a freight - especially one like that! 48 class leading anything under the wires is somewhat of a rarity these days. I was content to get a pair of 830 class leading an RL through Enfield on a service to Carrington a couple of months ago (although, a 48 would have been better...)

It's amazing how many things you have forgotten about or gave up on, that you can restart again when there is snow and rain outside.

this will be the only livery I will be releasing, although another forum member is going to attempt a couple of reskins.

cheers

Nice shots, everyone.

Davido, i love the pics, and the names too. Will we be seeing the reskinned 48's on the DLS at any point? We have every other scheme for it. Good to see that the location now has a name.
I assume this is to try and fool us into thinking it's a fictional route?;) :hehe:

Righto, how many Tasmanians are amongst us. The first couple of locos that I intend to do in Tasrail livery. I'm going to try and fix a glaring defficiency in the TRS loco and rollingstock as far as Tasmania goes.

Now, I can only make do with what's available but I think they have come out really well. I've reskinned the QR 2100 into a D class, D 2020 and D 2021. These locos were Ex-WA and were sent to NZ enroute to Tasmania for modifications.

The ones I created for TRS....

Tasrail also acquired ex QR 1502/1460 class locos. Extensive modifications were carried out in New Zealand before heading to the Apple Isle. They did receive a lowered short hood nose for better visibility.

My version of the DQ class, only one available is Pikka's 1502 but turned out alright.

Now some scenery shots, the route is Marooma. I think Flathog is the creator of that one. Looks just right for a Tasmanian setting I think.

More soon.

hi I know it has been a long time since you posted this.

but my Question is I downloaded these locos the D worked fine but I can drive the DQs but no bogeys. what is this.

All
there has been some great work, falcon500 and ryan mc love your shots from north of the border they have the tropical feel to them.

regarding the new PN livery for the 48 class having seen one 48162 in the flesh i would say the version davido has made for trains looks the best. The PN livery makes the 48 class look weird and distorted, davido has done well to recreate a in my opinion a crappy looking livery.

Congrats DavidO, you've hit the big time, you created a crappy looking livery:hehe::hehe::hehe: wish I was that good. Wait, I am, I've been making crappy looking liveries for years:eek::eek::eek:

sorry ghosty couldnt resist it.

cheers

In real life the PN livery is a pretty ordinary livery at best on some locos it looks alright but on others like the 48 it does look iffy. Davidos version makes PNs ordinary livery look good. davido has done well to make the livery look decent. i will take the trainz version anytime over the real life version.

I've failed......it's suppose to look like the real thing :'(:eek:

The PN colours really suit the box shaped locomotives to a tee. On hood units, some of them it looks good on, but others they might not have bothered! The 48 class are a case in point! I would have preferred a bright yellow panel on the short hood only, not the whole front of the unit!

I don't suppose they are used as lead loco's these days but all that yellow would be a bit bright for the crew I would think.

Only if they are taking a photo! 48's are used as lead units, but only out in the middle of nowhere, and on the Pelton coal (and even then, it's usually a PL in the lead). GrainCorp 48's should see some use as lead units on the various branch lines - that's an attractive livery!

EDIT: I seem to recall someone out there was looking for photos of the NDFF ballast hopper?

I wanted to get more detail shots of both wagons, but didn't have time sadly. I must admit, I did waste a big chunk of time taking photos of 2208 on the front of the train...

As night falls, there is still nobody around to load the rails or to take the train back to the Ridge. Oh well.

Ryan[/QUOTE]

Ryan,

I noticed in this shot you have a 3-way crossover signal. Is this for your personal use or is it on the DLS?

Regards,
Clinton.

Dave, you mean, 1 in 2 or 1 in 3??!!:p I'd fire the surveyor if I was you haha. Nice shots all the same!

If the PN designers had any sense, they would basically do the same livery of the Coote 48s. I must admit it suits them very well.

Pete, those 32s and P6s look great! I'm looking forward to these. How are the end platforms getting along too?

Fantastic as usuall Forest_Runner. Those shots are great!!
Daniel
