Australian screenshots

Hi Scott,

Gauging from your remarks, one could expect to find you wandering around deserted yards in the dead of night, with a piece of string, for the procurement of measurable evidence as to the width (or not) of laid lines.
Happy hunting, & I commend your astute observances!. :)

Thanks nbrettoner, I like your pun in the first line there:hehe: .

I have to be honest and say that I don't go wandering around rail yards at night. I'm 14, so I do hardly anything outside at night.... but I do like voicing my opinion, which I have. So all is well.

Like I said Ryan McC, it's only a friendly suggestion, take it or leave it, it means nought to me.

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Off-topic:

I usually get good answers here so...

Has anyone here had any issues with Windows 7 64bit and TRS2006? I recently upgraded and I am getting similar, and sometimes worse performance on my new machine compared to my old machine which ran on Windows XP. Loading times for maps are extremely long with it sometimes taking up to 5 minutes up open my CityRail route. If it's issues with 7, then I might have to switch back to XP for route building.

Second issue is that a lot of items in TS2010 appear black on my CityRail route. I simply just imported by TRS2006 local directory into TS2010 and so many items just appear as black untextured objects, or trees with broken / black transparency. Is there any simple ways to fix this issue?

:'(

Mattm,

your Voluminous, Veiled Voracious Ventures in trying subliminal suggestion may be paying off.

why didnt I think of it before? You've convinced me to make it for you,,,,,,,

a Veggie patch

cheers
pete:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe:

Pete that's quite presumptuous of you to proffer your preference for parsnips patches for pervadors of pealable pegetables (Provocative providential poetic license allowed).

I would have thought that you, having pondered your present geographic position :o
would have preferred a plot of Impatients, Petunias & Paddy Mellons, plus
Pink Polentas on the sun porch?
:D:wave::hehe::)

YES! LMAO, ROFL, LOL, and all the rest.
Someone finally got it. Cheers guys, my first laugh of the day came courtesy of your responses.
Now, i wonder: Is the intended target really not getting this, or is he just pointedly restraining himself from comment? Hmm, i guess we'll neVer,eVer find out.

Nice shots, Ryan_McC.

Matt.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Dave, they are truly hideous haha:hehe:

its a 32 not P, they are quiet different, I haven't managed to get the P into trs yet, nor the green version:'(

True, they were the P(6)-class and after 1924, the C32-class. And Pete, why is the tender a differnt colour to the loco?

Ok, I'll come clean.

It was a not-so-subtle (I thought) way of saying i love your creations, with the V-sets at the top of the list. Just my way of trying to brighten somebody's day, seeing if i could get a laugh.

try telling an old engine-man that ... or a young-un brought up on old engineman tales...

still, looking forward to seeing it released.. the old one is looking quite, well , dated

P class/C32 class modifications

There are actually many differences between the initial order P class as introduced and as 32s in their final form which changed their appearance, including:

Clack valves relocated to under the cab c1916, later moved to behind the steam dome, possibly around 1918-1920 period, and again to their final position behind the smokebox from 1922.

Mechanical lubricators fitted from 1915, later 5 feed hydrostatic lubricators fitted to all locos.

Larger Westinghouse brake pumps fitted from 1923 to cope with longer trains.

From 1924, the original 2 tone whistles were replaced with standard NSWGR 5 chime whistles.

Electric lighting fitted to all class member from 1922, initially only for headlights, later for marker lamps as well; the locos recieving steam powered turbo-generators mounted on top of the firebox.

Some were fitted with slide bar covers and cowcatchers for working unfenced branchlines in the dusty west of the state.

Original Ramsbottom safety valves replaced with Ashton 'pop' valves from 1940.

Superheating from 1930 (3391 delivered with a Beyer & Peacock superheater in 1911, various other types trialled on other class members between then and 1930).

As a result of this, the entire class recieved new 21" diameter cylinders with piston valves, compared with the original 20" cylinders with slide valves. The class also recieved pilot drifting valves and extended smokeboxes.
Piston tail rods also removed around this time.

Five locos reframed in 1913, a futher 63 being reframed during 1933-1937.
Spring compensating gear fitted to 6 wheel tenders during the 1920s. Side extensions fitted to the sides of both bogie and 6 wheel tenders during this period also occured.

Most class members recieved bogie tenders in lieu of the 6 wheel type, however some retained the 6 wheel tenders for working where only a 50' turntable was available. Many of the surplus tenders found their way to members of the 12, 16, 19 and 25 classes.

Note: Not all modifications applied to the class are listed here, only those which would have altered the appearance of the locos.

Hope this clears things up.

The Spirit on a branchline? (Warning 1024x1024 images)

trainz2010-02-2717-27-30-74.jpg

The NSWRTM was fortunate enough to be able to arrange with the Victorian Railways and the NSWGR for a tour consisting of two S class diesels hauling a full 10 car Spirit of Progress set over the branchline from Karrah Bay to Wadalbavale. They are seen here storming the grade on the way to Wadalbavale.

The two S class locos are the work of S301 if memory serves me rightly, and all the coaches are by Pete (ad602000), specifically, his Spirit of Progress cars, and his Southern Aurora PHN power van. All are available on the DLS.

My memory obviously doesn't serve me correctly on this occasion :hehe: Thanks for the correction Timo.

Now what was I going to post here again....

That's right, some more screenshots, this time on the fiercely graded Tarana-Oberon line:

trainz2010-05-0109-20-09-01.jpg

1709 ambles along with an 8 car BOB set as part of an RTM railtour to Oberon.

trainz2010-05-0109-29-09-41.jpg

1709 has decoupled from the train and draw clear of the points to allow 1919 and 1905, both fitted with second-hand Baldwin tenders specially for working the line, to shunt back onto the train and haul it onwards to Oberon.

The two antiquated 0-6-0s stamp out of Tarana with the BOB set in tow.

1919 and 1905 are getting well into their stride as their crews prepare for the long, arduous climb to Oberon.

trainz2010-05-0109-37-59-31.jpg

The tour train rounding one of the tight curves that prohibited many engine types from running the line and characterised the Oberon branch.

Rounding yet another curve, the pair are now pacing along at a lazy 25mph as they continue their steady climb towards Hazelgrove and beyond.

Still working hard with their load of punters, 1919 and 1905 show no signs of slacking off, their firemen having their job well in had as can be told by the very minimal amount of exhaust from their funnels.

Happy Trainzing.

Evan, do those 19's have the animated rods under the boiler? My reason for asking is that they look like the early one I did, I made two versions later on
they were
<kuid2:63971:1905:2> and <kuid2:63971:1925:2> these were better than the first one.

more importantly where did you get the baldwin tenders - I could never find them on the DLS

first shot looks good too, tho 1709 does look a little lonely without 1243 ( hint peter :P )

Pete, the 19s are indeed your early versions with the animated valve gear. Downloading the updated 19s now. BTW, what is the kuid for the Baldwin tender in this image: http://www.auran.com/trainz/downloads/packs/package11347.jpg ?

stanb, the Baldwin tenders are from S301, designed to run behind his very fine generic 2-8-0 compounds
Loco: <kuid2:103475:202:1>
Tender: <kuid2:103475:1202:1>

Bearcat245, if Content Manager would work on my computer for a change, I'd be happy to test the Z12 or any other betas that need testing.

I'll have some more screenshots a bit later.
Regards, Evan.
