Australian screenshots

I be taking a small hiatus, as my main system 110% died the other day taking along with it the HDD's Mainboard, CPU, GFX card, well pretty much the whole thing. (Not my week) Hope to have a new system up and running sometime late this weekend and back into Trainz, though due to work it could be longer if I am called away.
It seems a little odd to me to have all those parts dying at the same time. Did you have a power surge or did your PSU mess things up?

Otherwise... it seems like you could you possibly reuse the majority of those parts.

An External Hard Drive, or RW-DVD's of all you PC data, Trainz CPD's, and a copy of your "Local" file, can save all your routes, and PC data, in case of lightning, or catastrophic PC failure. Hope this helps people save routes due to PC failure.

Off topic question's to those "Downunder":

As it is summertime in the US, and @ 85-100 F here...I am curious, what are the temps in your country as it is wintertime in Australia and all the South Pacific Countries ?

Do you have "Scrapple" or Goetta" (which some consider totaly gross, but it's really a yummy, US breakfast meat) in Australia ? What culinary oddities do Australians have in their country.

You can Yahoo IM me, or Forum Message me your responces to my off topic questions

Hi from down under
our winter temperatures here range from an average, -10 degrees Celsius in the alps to 20 degrees Celsius in the northern tropics. Our equivalent to your "scraple" and "goetta" (which I have never heard of) would be "Vegemite" this is a spread for toast which is made up of extract vegetable sludge from the bottom of fermentation vats in breweries after the beer making process is complete (I kid you not). It has the consistency and appearance of axle grease, probably the taste as well. A close second to that would kangaroo bacon which is a tad on the tough side. Emu eggs however are fine, where because of their size, one egg will make an omelette large enough to feed one family. When keeping Emus you have to make a very strong enclosure, as they are a rather aggressive and clumsy bird, which when angered, are big enough to kick an outhouse down.

cheers
pete

I've long been in love with those cement wagons you've made. I don't suppose you ever have plans to revisit them?

umm, I never made them, Phil C very graciously allowed me to reskin them when I first stated playing with content creation. However, your message got me doodling, aaah retirement, so much time on your hands.

MY olds used to farm racing Emus, never short of bird for Christmas, Only problem is you need good fencing. The other problem is that if your got Emus around they seem to atract the odd feral Bunyip. Spent many a warm summer night with my brothers and Dads old 22 spot lighting Bunyips.

Davido, thanks for the links. Had a quick look last night, and i should be able to make some usable observations from the photos. My aplogies also, for incorrectly crediting Natvander with the creation of your Coal Loaders. I'm sorry, i should have checked first:o.

Raichase, thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you like it. This route is one where i'm going to experiment with a few things that i have seen in other routes (and real life) but have yet to attempt on my own work. Little things like road over/underpasses; gradients etc.

Trent, sorry to hear that you lost your computer. Here's hoping you had all the important stuff backed up, and you're able to rejoin the Trainz community ASAP.

Cheers,

Matt.

Woah, well timed Pete!:hehe: My mate Nathan told me he saw a cement train today at sport, then I thought... 'We need some good cement hoppers for Trainz...' Looks great mate!!:D
Excellent work as always everyone!
Thanks,
Mitch

Great looking wagons there pete! :)
I still enjoy using the orignal FreightCorp ones, these will be a great addition to any route.

If you have time on your hands and want a challenge, may I suggest you try your gifted hand at making a decent XPT to go with Davido's Xplorer? :hehe:

I think it would be quite a task but one you would be able to overcome.

For a bit of triva, an XPT set is made up of:

XP Power Cars x2
XFH Luggage Van x1
XAM Sleeper Car x1
XBR Buffet Car x1
XL First Class Sitter x1
XF Econmy Class Sitter either x2 for a 6 car set or x3 for a 7 car set.

Would be very interested to see if someone could come up with a model that captures the aussie look and shape of our XPT. (Which is vastly different to the British HST by the way:p )

Just a thought after coming home from work.....:D

Jamie, where did you get those? *correction* who sent you the beta for those?

Now I know my this little module will never be as good as forest's or Mulie's but I would still like some feedback on how you like it :)

Cheers

JJDella, Great screenshots, but I think you had better call the fellas from the Infrastructure department out. That waiting shelter in the last pic looks a tad dilapidated :hehe:
