Hi Trainzerz!!
I had no idea that Redbull had passed away. Its a shame that his route was not finished, I was looking forward to it. I know about the other routes, I have downloaded them. I remeber going on sarail's website SAR Trainz and seeing that someone wrote that they were continuing the SARN4T Routes and making the Victor Line and many of the other country lines such as Port Pirie, Mount Gambier etc. Sorry to hear (especially so late) that Redbull has passed.
Thanks, SARRailways
Trent,
the shots of your Port Levendale route look quite nice. I particularily like the park. I wonder where that idea came from, eh?If you don't mind, could i have the KUID no's/names of the objects used in the making of that park?
Also, i was wondering what, if anything, you have done with NSW Nilligottim that i sent you the other day? Would be interesting to see what you managed to achieve with it.
Matt.
Ed... just a couple of things.
1. Non DLS content... how do I know what is DLS and non DLS?? Not trying to be a smartarse, but my recent experience in uploading a modular route left me with some non DLS items where I was caught unaware.
Describing my situation - I have accumulated items from far and wide over the years, across multiple versions of Trainz/TRS/TS, using 4 different PCs. Now when I'm in surveyor building away, I've no mental recollection of what came from where... or when for that matter. Therefore I could not supply a list of non DLS downloads until after the fact. Is it acceptable to do after the fact?? I don't think I'd be the only person in this boat.
2. Frequency... I think a monthly competition is overkill, and has a high likelihood of fizzling out after the initial novelty has worn off. It's just human nature. Also, unless you're Muliebuck, monthly can be a stretch for someone who does not spend a reasonable amount of daily/weekly time in the Sim.
I believe you'll get a higher participation rate if the frequency was less. Example... bi-monthly... or even Quarterly, where the comp runs for two months and there is a month break in between. Advantages to this is.
- The more sporadic users will feel comfortable putting their hand up to enter (increasing participant numbers).
- Allows more time for those who are working on other projects (also increasing participant numbers).
- A month off; would be good to throw ideas around for the next theme, for the route builders recharge the batteries, and from the human psyche perspective simply have something to look forward to (extend the lifespan of your idea).
Just my thoughts anyway... neutral and unbiased thoughts too, as I would be unlikely to enter.
Hello Matt,
Thanks for the comment on the route. It's actually turning into more than I expected hehe. ( Thinking of making it a separate branch line route, as its detailed far better then my other fictional I have going)
I'll dig up the kuids and post them here later today.
Your NSW Nilligottim, is under going a few minor changes atm and then get some texturing done etc. Hope to have a few screen shots up this weekendDying of the flu this week, so I still off work. But I just cant sit at the PC very long as I ache head to toe atm.
Cheers
Trent
I think you can then check these kuids off against the Download Station tab in Content Manager Plus. Clicking on the kuid column heading sorts all kuids into number order, and you tick off the assets as you find them.
