Australian screenshots

Hi Froggee. The L class versions on the DLS are indeed legacy content as you know, but after examining them in CMP, the errors that mostly show up for them are simply the old 'Progressive Meshes are no longer supported yadda yadda yadda," and a problem with a shadow texture. From what I'm aware, there is a reasonably straightforward way to convert old style .PM meshes to the modern .IM mesh used by modern versions of Trainz, which would eliminate those annoying errors. I can't remember the exact details though, but I'm pretty sure there are guides found elsewhere on these forums which detail how to do it.

As for the shadow error, if I remember rightly, the way to fix that is to open the file for edit, then open it's Config file, and delete the entry for the shadow texture and recommit it (it's wise to back up the config file first before making any alterations of course). However, I'm not 100% sure, so it would be best to wait and ask for clarification first from someone more experienced in fixing these errors before doing this, as I only have minimal experience fixing faulty content.

It should also go without saying that if you had 2010, all the L class units available do in fact work with 2010 under Compatibility Mode (which is what I use as a stop gap measure). However, as you don't seem to own that version that's not an option for you sadly.

Thanks mate, i will look into it

To convert the meshes you should probably use a program called PM2IM which pretty much does it all automatically. It's a free program from PEV soft. Google it and you will probably find the site.

Well. I know where the first shot was taken, I am a bit ;) unsure where the second shot was taken.

Hello Everyone,

I hope we are safe and well, and keep up the cracking job of those screenshots. :)

@Patchy, how did you get that PB15 on the back of a low loader? Looks great, some preservation mob must be really stoked to be getting that old girl.

Btw, I found a drawing for a QR D13 1/2, D13 1/2 ABT, & Donal Dinnes - 8D15. Looking interesting from the early days.

I am not Patchy but the first thing I would try is to place a piece of (invisible) tracks on that low loader and that should work. Or make that locomotive with its tender a stationary item in its config.txt and attach it via an attachment point.

The static PB15 is also on the DLS too - I've used it on my Perth route as a stand in for certain preserved WA engines (like S542 at East Perth Terminal). I think Dreddy also did a DD17 tank engine, an end platform carriage and a QBX closed van as static scenery too.

These were made 7 years ago I think as far as I know they never made them onto the DLS found them on a backup drive this morning --- on the DLS soon

Queensland Railways 18 Feet Level Crossing Gates

Hello Everyone;

Just another creation that will be making it to the DLS, a set of Queensland Railways 18 feet Level Crossing Gates. Fully animated with typical red posts.

These were standard for single lines on the entire QR network weither on Branchlines, Country Districts or Suburban Brisbane. Based off original drawings issued for Mt Cuthbert - Cloncurry Branchline dated 1915 from my private collection.
