Shots taken with my new Nikon Coolpix L340 today. The one of 6039 I nearly had my fingers frozen off waiting to take it, but it was worth it.

9 old locomotives in China which I visited in 2015, all of them were for non-tour run, some of them were built in 1970s.

Happy new year to you all~

Amazing pics Felix! Intresting to see steam-locos in use in 2015 for someone living in a western-county...

Ohwell, some pics from my 2015 autumn InterRail-trip towards the east:

More Balassagyarmat (this name is seriously impossible to spell correctly...)

And a rare view for Americans (and others): Freighttrains pulled by electric locos! ;) This place is Aszod, Hungary.

Wanna see more? I have some more pics (about 50+) from my travel on my website (http://jowahlen.se/resor/hostiost_2015/hostiost_2015.htm), but it's not completley finished yet (probably publishing next part in a couple of weeks), and it's all written in Swedish...

Great pictures all!
This photo kinda sums up my fairly short train trip from Jasper AB, to Prince George. The Via rail service had 3 other people on it besides my friend and I. With everyone dosing off, I had the whole dome car to myself. With the lights turned off to stop reflections thanks to the conductor, I managed to get some great shots. It was quite eerie up there waiting in the siding for around 30mins for this freight to suddenly come charging past.

Hi all,

I recently took a trip from Pretoria to Cullinan on the Diamond Express, a steam excursion operated by Friends of the Rail. Here are some photos from my outing.

Click on images to view full sized images.

Waiting at Eerste Fabriek station for clearance to enter the single line portion of the main line.

Just after the Rayton station, the Diamond Express takes the branch to Cullinan.

The Diamond Express has just arrived in Cullinan. Locomotive 2650 (Cheugnette), a class 19D, will shortly be uncoupled and pulled forward over the ash pit.

2650 over the ash pit.

The Diamond Express passenger coaches pushed back clear of the platform for the duration of the stop in Cullinan. The consist is pulled forward to the platform again for passengers to board prior to the return trip to Pretoria.

2650 has been turned on the wye and is now heading back to the station.

Cheers,
Ian
