Now we continue the trip to East Chattanooga, starting Missionary Ridge Tunnel to the entrance to East Chattanooga.

We have exited Missionary Ridge Tunnel and are taking the last turn before entering yard limits of East Chattanooga. After the turn, we will briefly parallel Stephens Street, which is the street with all those small houses.

We have arrived at East Chattanooga and are beginning to take the super-sharp curve into the station at East Chattanooga.

Since I have so many pictures from around East Chattanooga, I've also split this into three parts.

As we enter East Chattanooga, we see a piece of equipment that is always found on mainline excursions: Auxiliary tender WT51.

The only thing that I can think of is that the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is doing contract work for the owner of the car.

Here we see a passenger car owned by the Southeastern Railway Museum in the East Chattanooga shops getting routine work done on her.

Here's Southern E unit #6914 being restored. She's been worked on for a while, so I have no idea how long it'll take to git 'er done.

Spamshot Alert! Part 9: The Return to Grand Junction

Now it's time to return to Grand Junction. I've only got two pictures, but that's because I was joined by two members of the Southeastern Railway Museum. We soon struck up a conversation and we all agreed on one thing: to see Savannah & Atlantic 4-6-2 #750 restored to operational order and used on mainline excursions.

Note that the passenger car sitting out in front of the shops was getting repainted on the right side, which was the side you can see arriving at East Chattanooga, as we were leaving East Chattanooga.

Here we see the split between the East Chattanooga Belt Terminal, which drops down to the right, and the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

After getting off the train, I decided to take a few pictures before leaving.

Here's a picture of 4501's headlight. I climbed onto a bench sitting outside to get this photo. The guy in the Rock City hat is my dad.

Yesterday I took a quick trip to my favorite place in the world to do some rail fanning at the ILLINOIS RAILWAY MUSEUM in Union Illinois, I Encounter seeing Frisco 1630 running up close for the first time since 2004 when I saw her last ran, I took a video and lots of photos as I could but I only could stay there for about 3 hours because I had to work that day so Sadly I missed most of the fun but I saw enough to be satisfied with my visit. So here are the photos.

Nice shot there SantaFeBuff. Was that taken on the 20th because that center cab was not there when I was watching Frisco 1630 here in this video.... Which is my first upload to youtube but Im trying to find a way to make the video HD at the moment because for some reason even thought the camera on my iPhone was HD, I don't have the video quality HD option at the moment but anyway hope you all enjoy my first video.

1630 was not the only thing I focased on while I was at IRM.... Next year I plan to take both days of the museum showcase weekend off of work so I can spend the whole day there to participate. Also I meet I a lot of people from the North Carolina area who attended the Streamliners at Spencer event (that I unfortunately missed out) who came out specifically to photograph the Silver Pilot. If you are a local guy (like Me and SantaFeBuff or someone from another state or country, I highly recommend visiting this museum not just once but a bit often because every year the museum always acquires something new to their collection.
