I've made a number of (non-prototypical) routes that are of a suitable quality but which I will not upload ... it's too much of a headache trying to ensure that downloaders don't end up with heaps of unknown assets (as I have a lot of external third party assets in my collection).I wonder if there are creators who for valid reasons not share their creations on the dls or web site.
I sympathize. My policy is to always ensure that any route/session I upload only contains assets that are built-in to the Trainz version the route/session was created for or are available on the DLS. No DLC or third party assets.it's too much of a headache trying to ensure that downloaders don't end up with heaps of unknown assets
Another reason is Language. If you search in one language , then that is what you get back as the result.Another problem, perhaps less related to this topic, would be those who upload content to the DLS and don't present it or report it on the Freeware Announcements Page. This means that thousands of assets go undiscovered, and we only discover them if we download a route and they're included in its dependencies. I can assure you that there's a huge amount of content almost hidden in the DLS.
Geez....how true. Been working on my UK route which I call GWSCR for many moons. Eventually it will be released....I'm sure some route creators don't share their pet route because its never finished.
