All Forum Activity Must Stop

William, I thought it was funny.

I even went looking for 2 hour movies on the web and found this at 1 hour 40 minutes.

You really should not link to stuff like that, as it is likely violating the copyright of the company that probably made the movie. YouTube is just stuffed full of copyright-infringing (pirated) stuff. For example, you can watch practically the whole library of the old Popeye cartoon shorts on YouTube, many/most of which are still copyrighted to Warner Brothers (although some of the cartoons are in the public domain (i. e. their copyright has expired), so those are legal to post on YouTube). The same applies to the Tom and Jerry cartoons, all of which are copyrighted to Warner Brothers, with none of them being in the public domain. It would suit me just fine if the policy in our Trainz Forum Code of Conduct that prevents linking to pirated software also applied to pirated (copyright-infringing) videos on YouTube.

The only way that YouTube will ever be free of illegal and inappropriate videos is if all video uploads had to be reviewed by official, right-minded YouTube staff before being released online, plus any copyright infringers and uploaders of inappropriate content being punished (e. g. blocked) for their actions. With the availability of illegal (e. g. copyright-infringing) and inappropriate videos being so rampant on YouTube, I strongly suspect that videos are made publicly available online immediately (or soon) after upload, which makes it obvious that YouTube is, in many ways, a free-for-all, pirate-haven torrent site for copyrighted cartoons, shows, movies, and most probably more. I guess that it figures that there may very well be some users here on these forums that are taking advantage of the pirated garbage that such wicked YouTube users are torrenting (torrenting is practically what it is), either unknowingly or deliberately.

So, for right now, I am strongly appalled at YouTube, and strongly oppose how they let wicked users dump such illegal content on their site, illegal content that would likely cause such users to have to go to court and face a goliath fine and/or maybe even jail time for their actions.

Regards
