I have come to the conclusion that to up to sp4 on 2009 does not work for me. My op system is Windows 7 64 Bit home edition. Everythings fine up to sp3, well even up to sp4, as soon as I add my S&C addon it goes haywire, problems with typing in surveyor ( loose the use of typing anything on keyboard ) loose S&C region for carz and any other region I generate to name a few problems. I looked on the forum for an answer. Question is would upgrading to Trainz 2010 resolve this or have the same results. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

Have you used the patch from here yet? http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...9-Addon-pack-manual-patches-are-now-available amongst other things it fixes the traffic.
If you haven't noticed N3V have a limited period 75% off sale at present, may be time to upgrade to 2010 or even TS12 while its very cheap.

Not sure about your specific problem but upgrading to TS2010 (or TS12) would be the best bet, and do it this week - check the special offers here:

You can put the S&C add on into TS12 by simply copying the .ja files and and adding the serial number, if you decide to take the plunge and need details on how to do this then post again.

Thanks for checking that road asset for me, I tried to update it yesterday it but that failed - I have had another go today by a different method, fingers crossed !

That is to be expected. SnC has to be installed before installing SP4 (ideally at SP2, as there is a patch available that can update the version with the addon pack up to SP3, then the patch to SP4 can be applied.

When you have installed SnC, let me know what the 5 digit number on the Launcher is so I can find the right patch.

Thankyou for getting back to me. Now I have the build number, I can tell you which patch you need to get to 41844.
That will be http://download.ts2009.com/Beta/40837_to_41844.exe.
Once this is installed, install SP4 as normal.

Shane Well I installed the patch 40837 to 41844, but noticed on start-up it had a notification that after patching no more patches where available for this build which got me worried. on trying to install patch 41844 to 44653 it started to patch as normal, then a notification came up "failed to patch builtin\1.ja file contents do not match. failed to apply patch. patch aborted". so I have left it at that as it stumped me.

That is concerning, but I do remember reading up about that one - just got to search back through to find the solution.
Unfortunately, that patch failure will affect your game, so a reinstall may be needed - if so, only patch as far as SP3 until I can work out why SP4 seems to fail with SnC being installed.
