2009 trainz EE

Hi All
I used to be active on trainz,the last was "collection" then got disenchanted and drifted away.Now I find my interest perking up,but I am wondering ,since I'm not into the production side ,mainly the operations, driving etc,would I find "trainz 2009 Builder too heavily oriented that way,and is The EE version close and worth waiting for .
I still have all "trainz back to 2004.

Most of the improvements in 2009 WBE are geared towards the route creator. Although SP1 has been released, SP2 promises a more stable platform yet. I would at least wait for that.
EE has been delayed, due to the work being done on SP2, but supposedly if an EE is ever released, it will be oriented more towards the operator.

TS2009 WBE is really an enhanced game engine that gives higher frame rates on the same hardware. It does compress textures to 25% internally for example so it sort of quadruples your video card memory. It does better error checking of assets. The big chance I've seen is more information coming out of Auran in Trainzdev to help content creators make better content. Most of it applies both to TS2009 and earlier versions.

Houses are mainly set to version trs2004, most track items are much the same. TS2009 does allow for different 5m ground textures rather than 10 m but TS2009 main claim to fame is the better performance and its more robust. Auran is hoping that people will build higher quality assets for TS2009.

Unfortunately what seems to be happening is people are continuing to build assets at the lowest version number required so new normal mapped high quality assets are appearing labeled TRS204, TC3 etc. and some assets that really are run of the mill are appearing with TS2009 version number.

I'm not even certain that EE edition will ever appear I suspect it will simply be content packs such as Murchison layout with some enhancements.

TS2009 SP2 well buy the download and and just add the SP2 when its released. TS2009 is fairly stable these days especially in compatibility mode the default.

re instal trainz

Hi Again
I have decided to hold off downloading 2009,instead re-instal what I have,and see how it goes,I would like a bit of advice on what and how to reinstal.My set up is : Vista HP 32 bit
Intel2140 1.60 Ghz
2GB Ram
I have a Raildriver N/A on MSTS,and runs poorly or not at all on Train sim,hope for better on Trainz,it used to.I have TS 2006, Trainz Railwayz,and TRAINZ Collection,which which of these may give the most in driver activities and "successful" access to DLS avoiding the errors and glitches I experienced in my last visit to Auran Planet,any do's or don'ts will be welcomed.
