Returning from a long Trainz break I was delighted to see my Liverpool-esque warehouse (Kuid 58659:23011) has been downloaded over 104,000 times..........someone must have liked it!

Hi Louvain:

Question: Of all your items is it the one you thought might make the 100K mark (or at least first)?

I ask because of all my items the one most downloaded is not even remotely one I would have thought would be downloaded 10K times - let alone the most.

Which proves Trainz and Trainzers are even crazier then me, lol.

Congrats.

Ben

Although none of my assets have reached that number of downloads (my most downloaded item is currently at about 250), I always find it surprising that, for a lot of them, the dependencies are downloaded far more times than the main asset, even though that dependency is almost entirely useless on its own. For example one of my recent wagons has reached 89 downloads, but the texture group for it has reached 158 and the custom load 173. It really is mad...

Hello , i'm running TRS 2009 .Is it then not possible to download for me ? I can't find it , not under title or kuid.

The checkboxes are part of the Search Screen. See screen-grab below.

They are listed under Trainz Versions. You can select any or all of them.

However, you will only be allowed to download assets which match your registered version, or a lower one – but you do need to tick the checkboxes to get the maximum number of returns. There are loads of assets made for earlier versions which will work and are really great, even by today’s standards.

Also be aware of the check circle buttons for doing a Text Search by KUID, Title, Username or Description. Make sure you have the correct one of these selected for the type of search you are doing. It’s very easy to type in a kuid number that you know exists, but it won’t show. This can be because the search button hasn't been changed from Title (default) to KUID.

Another trap is entering a kuid number in a format which the search function won’t recognise. You must only put in the two numbers either side of the colon. Don’t put in the characters KUID, KUID2, or any of the numbers after the KUID2 second colon or either of the start and end chevrons you see surrounding some numbers. The DLS will automatically find the original kuid and any modified kuid2's provided the recognisable format has been entered.
