Yeah, makes one wonder but I sense this is NOT some humorous prank. A sure way to give the impression that things indeed are going downhill fast with AURAN. But perhaps it is NOT an impression, it could be reality of the way new creations are handled from now on, seeing these "strange" uploads went on unnoticed by AURAN for at least 13 days. Are we users/downloaders supposed to be the censors now about uploaded content when this is already been uploaded? Just suppose these uploads would have been something more sinister and/or disturbing and perhaps could have been downloaded by the vulnerable? Makes one think!
Yet when trying to upload some items myself, I can not get them approved!
Go figure!

Harmless or not but what purpose do some of these uploads serve? Why would I want to d/load the "poo" texture other than finding out what this is all about? Other than taking up server space and perhaps inviting to others to d/load that texture and some of the other uploads and thereby increasing server loads I can not see any sense in this. I sure as hell would not want to use this texture. Unless you can think of a use for it.

Re being happy to know how to upload, there are better ways to try this, me thinks. But then again, what do I know, I am not a moderator, hence....:hehe:
But then again, have you checked his/her profile? Me also thinks this individual seems indeed trying to hide (something).

Has the DLS ever been filtered for quality? I just don't think we've ever had anyone uploading such large numbers of (insert suitable adjective here) assets before. I've certainly downloaded a few items previously and thought 'How can the creator have NOT spotted that error?'
All the same, it would be useful to have a comment from Zec about what the procedure is, just in case anyone gets any ideas that aren't so harmless...

I have a guess but if I say it, it might get me a ban or something. I have to agree with Vinnybarb. I tried to upload some content that was fixed for 09 but most of it failed for no reason. But yet, crap like this goes through. It isn't any wonder why some people don't want to upload to the DLS anymore. I know I won't be.
I'm not sure that there is any relationship between the failure of your items to go through, and this character's 'spam' content. It seems to me that Auran are finally sorting out the DLS problems after a long time of putting it on the back-burner. Some perfectly good content is failing, but it seems most of it uploads OK at second attempt, and an awful lot is going through.
Not uploading to the DLS doesn't hurt Auran nearly as much as it hurts the community. By all means upload elsewhere, but please re-consider the DLS when it appears to be finally fixed.

I mean no disrespect Paul but it was supposedly fixed when I uploaded the content the other day. I'm trying to update some content to comply with native mode but when the content gets rejected for absolutely no reason what so ever, it kind of torques me off. I did have a couple that got rejected for simple mistakes in the config file. My fault indeed.
I agree that it hurts the community to a point but why should I spend my time trying if I can't even get a valid rejection ?

It does raise the question of what checks are now in place.
The uploading system is so fast now (and I'm certainly not complaining about that) but it seems content is being checked entirely by automated means. I can't see how auto-checks can prevent political propaganda, abuse, carefully disguised bad language, porn images etc.
Deleting things after they appear on the DLS will also cause lots of headaches.
It would be interesting to hear from Auran what the system is now.

Im not trying to point out any heads , but i think that "9000dollar" is one of those scammers that got banned but came back to the forums. Err , i keep forgetting his name .....

I didn't say it wouldn't hurt Auran - but it's a blunt instrument that hurts Auran's customers way before it bites them. In any case, I'm pleased that Auran are now putting a great deal of effort into sorting the DLS upload process out (possibly because they've finally finished SP3 for TS2009). Over the last couple of weeks there has been a lot more attention on the DLS uploads thread, and Terry (pw3r) seems to have been actively working on improving the script. In fact I've just noticed that Meridious' 4 items have just appeared (along with more SPAM from 9000DOLLAR
).It must be said, it is getting a little annoying...

I looked him up on the DLS, and, how is this crap even funny? If it is a joke, its not that funny... Like - poo, just say it, 'poo'. How can anybody sane laugh at that? Its kinda sad there isnt a 'straight face' or 'no man, just no' smiley here, cos now would be the time to use it...
But yeh, I tried to upload a route of mine and it failed, and 'poo' like this gets through? Hopefully Auran will figure somthing out... (optimistic, me)

I downloaded the "poo" texture out of curiosity. Its not like it sounds. It's not a brilliant texture, maybe suitable for river beds or muddy fields. But like others have said it's funny how this can be up-loaded with no probs yet other items from our great creators have difficulty.
