1960s Durham Gilesgate (Durham Goods) with Clayton Type 1

Early 1960s Northeast England. A representation of Durham Gilesgate station (Durham goods). BR Type 1 Clayton Bo-Bo (later Class 17) at the end of the line while shunting. The station, built in 1844 and becoming a goods station in 1857, would close in 1966. It is now a hotel. This is on my personal route NW Durham and is a work in progress.

Fantastic looking route, has the same sort of vibe a route I'm building. Is yours set in the Eastern or North Eastern Region?

Thanks James. I've considered it as being BR Eastern Region as that's where my origins were but it could easily be converted or assumed to be on the edges so that other regions' stock can be used. In fact I might do myself a GWR version if only to include some of skipper's wonderful creations.

With special thanks to skipper1945.

WD Austerity on the fast down line passes twin Panniers waiting for their shunt to finish.

Rake finished, and twins depart the down slow freight line with empty vans bound for the main sidings, while a fast fitted freight scuttles on the fast up line.

Sunny day in Carlisle. A Royal Scot stands on Platform 4 with an 'up' to Euston. Two black fives await their tour of duty in the centre roads and a Stanier 4P 2-6-4T in Platform 2 awaits it's departure to Workington. In the background is the station pilot having a bit of lunch.

Apologies, escafeld, for not acknowledging your advice on track straightening - I hadn't seen your post. The picture is actually from Lord Claude Hamilton's Welney and Umneth route I think, but I hadn't noticed those points. I've now straigntened them.......

<CRINGE!>

My track laying skills were not always the best back then!

Wonderful stuff!

Also, considering this says 'Pre BR Blue' is there a certain era you have to stick within? I would assume from when BR was formed to just before BR Blue..(Obviously)

No, anything Steam-era. You can include Stephenson's Rocket if you like. But it absolutely must be UK!
