Young People And Railways (how old are you?)

My age

I was born in 1829, same year as the Delaware & Hudson Railway. I lived through the era of Interurbans, mergers and so on. :hehe: Actually, I'm 16, but I wish I was from 1829.

Yup

Wow, your 181 years old? :hehe:

Ya, I was around when Union Pacific 844 was built. Back in the day, I had to walk fifteen miles through the snow just to get to the old railroad station and hop a train to the city. I even had millions if not billions of children who grew up to work the railroads. :hehe: Kidding.
Anyways, I also witnessed the GG1 electric locomotives retirement.

20, and I've always loved any big, powerful machine, be it cars, trains, aircraft, ships, whatever. I like steam power in trainz for the same reason I love old radial engines in flight sim. Diesels and electrics don't have nearly enough to keep me occupied in the cabin.

39 here.... And have always liked trains both models and real ones :)

I travel by rail in real life when ever time permits :) Rather then fly

Almost 20, i am. Living on the Central Coast, NSW, and loving watching PacNat, QR, Countrylink, Cityrail and the rest travel through an extremely picturesque section of the Short North.

Long live 3801!

17. Loved trains since I watched my first REAL Thomas episode. I don't get out railfanning as much as I want to, but I do plan to take a "railfan vacation" in the future.

I'm 13 and I am nuts about anything US steam and early diesels ( E7, FT, GP7,9,18, H-24-66 (FM Trainmaster), etc). I'm also a huge Lionel fan hence the TTP (Toy Train Project). Budding railfan too. Love to go and watch trains and take pictures. So who said that not very many young people are interested anymore? (Started in trains when I was 1/2 year old!)
