Worth getting Trainz 2012?

Yakutsky
Most of the time I've found that if it works in TS2010 it will usually work in TS12 there are exceptions but if that happens just post the problem on the TS12 forum and someone will undoubtably tell you how to fix it.

Thanks Ken, one thing I would like to know; Is it very simple to get all my plug ins of TS2010 in to 12? I got a massive folder and would like to keep it all... plus I've just started building a nice route, will this be obsolete? Thanks.

Don't get it from Amazon or Steam, get it from here. You get updates and won't have any hassles. It is not worth a couple of dollars to have problems right off the bat.

I am thinking to get one, and TS12 is now $16USD in Amazon (download version).
Should I get it from Amazon, or should I get TS2010 from N3V for $20. The TS12 in N3V is $25, which is more expensive than I was expecting.
When you figure out how many hundreds of hours you are going to spend with the program, the difference in price of a couple of containers of Starbucks, doesn't really look significant to me.

No. Make a backup of your route and any other irreplaceable assets to a CDP file and store that somewhere safe, which you should do anyway. Then you can just import everything over.

OK, sounds good, especially for the 25 bucks at the moment, will probably get it. As long as most of my 2010 content will work I'm pretty keen as it runs smoother.

EDIT: Looks like Auran doesn't want me to buy TS12 as I can't click on the "buy now" for the digital version because of a stupid Itunes banner I can't click away..... little sloppy Auran.

I don't think I'm running compatibility mode, how do I check that? I did use a lot off old stuff, but was already starting to filter that out. I heard most of the pre 2010 stuff won't work? I'll just import it once the download is done and see what happens.

Don't forget yellow exclamation marks are only warnings so don't be concerned if you see a lot of those, they do not stop the assets working.

So indeed, massive texture issues, some more things, but indeed, the game runs smoother and looks a bit crisper... and that is it so far... will let you guys know how I will go later on... oh, my routes work in TS12 btw.
