Why has posting screen shots been such a pain lately?

I found image sharing sites have always had problems, gone on for years here. My advice, get your own blog site. I am not a regular blogger but have used mine for:
Comedy
Venting
Photos
Image sharing sites have been too unreliable here in my view, yes I tried one. I have yet to hear of one complaint about the photos on my blog (not all are visible unless I link them) and I got 3GB photo/video/media space free, I have not broken 10MB yet. Just recently in a TS12 topic posted a picture from my blog if anyone wants to test its visibility.

Unfortunately, you HAVE to post here using the image sharing sites to be seen. I have my own site, and I'm working on having all of my content listed on it, including non-DLS downloads and links to the DLS (with full-size images) for the DLS stuff. I can see page views from the analytics on my site, but I'll never get the number of eyeballs I get here on the forums.

Actually using "Copy Image" instead of copy link, then CTRL V to paste, you can post any picture hosted just about anyplace including facebook.

Advantage to places like imageshack is you can host larger pictures, disadvantage is they sometimes lose or delete images so an older tutorial loses important illustrations. And of course that annoying YFROG SOCIAL popup.

Not true, I think you misunderstand. Try seeing the picture I put here in this link:

Can you see that? Uploaded today on my blog site at Wordpress. When uploaded, it is not linked to any blog and should not be visible to people who visit it but the site gives me the web address of the picture, I use the Insert Image tool here and there it is, no image sharing site needed and no cost to me.

I see where the misunderstanding is: I said you HAVE to post here to get the eyeballs, in other words, a blog won't do it on its own, so you have to post in the forums. I was under the mistaken impression that you were talking about the blog instead of the forum. You were simply talking about using the blog site simply as a hosting site (in addition to the blog). My site (on Weebly) doesn't make it easy to get the image links, but it can be done. Not a bad alternative to the photo sharing sites! Good idea!

I'm not sure about the other posters, but my issue is getting the Javascript popup to actually post the images when I paste the link in. It just stays stuck in the popup box and never actually does anything. That's why I strictly post the links and type in the IMG tags.

Yeah, what I found is if you wait 10 minutes or so you get that "a script on this page is causing (internet explorer / firefox / google chrome / netscape navigator / whatever) to run slowly" error, which is kind of redundant by then since you already know that something ain't right. Possibly Java itself screwed something up in their latest updates.

I found that by turning off the preview feature in the editor, things work much better. That way, I only see the links while editing. I can still preview the results by previewing the whole message before posting.

Also makes it easier to post a series of images - copy paste the link and just change the image file name.
