Try two things:
1. Try both DirectX and OpenGL mode
2. Run as Administrator every time you run Trainz. It works for me every time.

BTW, when I opened the image I thought it was a real error message on my computer, until the OK button did nothing.:o
 
First suggestion here is to try removing the assets that you added at the time of the error starting to appear.

Secondly, check the following settings:

Resolution: Needs to be the same as the resolution set in Windows.
Bit Depth - should be set to 32.
Vertical Sync - should be set to Auto apart from a few circumstances.
Frequency - should be set to Auto.
Disable Hardware TL - how to set this option depends on your graphics card.

Also, make sure the drivers for both your Graphics card and DirectX are both up to date.

Sorted - for some reason the graphics had reverted to default in Options, i.e. Open GL instead of DirectX and 1024 x 768 instead of 1680 x 1050. Put back to what they should be and the programme starts okay.

Would still like to know what went wrong there - but I think the moral of the story is to steer clear of stuff in cmpa format from external sites, not worth trashing your install with.
 
Hey guys little help I am getting a new computer in the next 4 or 5 days. I was using xp now the new computer comes with Windows 7 so how do you run as adminstrator the game:confused: ?

Definitely worth trying. I had a problem of things disappearing from view. A village, or a tunnel portal, or most worrying was when the signals started disappearing. Switching from DirectX to OpenGL solved the problem and the problem has never returned.

That happened to me two nights ago as well. The funny thing is that I did not download any Romanian Studio stuff.

I hope it's nothing to do with that Joker who updated the assets with pink blobs recently?

I had that problem a few months ago. Updating DirectX, video drivers did nothing. System restore is to the previous day is what fixed it.
