What are your computer specs?

saintjimmy

You! Off my planet.
Yes, that is the question. What are your specs? Let's see how y'all compare! I'll start with the 3 computers I play Trainz 2006/Classics on the most

I have two computers of my own, and I use my dad's sometimes too. The smileys represent performance in the sims.

1st: Gateway FX7020 w/Vista Prem - My Dad's - :)
AMD Phenom Quad Core 9600+ (2.3 GHz x4 cores)
3 GB DDR2 Memory (667 MHz speed)
500 GB Hard Drive
NVidia GeForce 8800GT (512 MB)
Integraded Audio Chip
Gateway PCI TV Tuner with Remote Control
Logitech X-240 2.1 Speakers

2nd: Gateway LX6200-01 w/Vista Home Premium 64 bit - My new & heavily upgraded one -
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition (3.0 GHz x4 cores)
8 GB DDR2 Memory (800 MHz speed)
750 GB Hard Drive w/ 320 GB backup external drive
ATI Radeon HD 4850 made by Diamond (512 MB)
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
Corsair TX650W 650 Watt Power Supply
Gateway/AverMedia PCI Express x1 TV tuner & remote control
Logitech X-540 5.1 surround sound speakers, almost perfect for trainzin'!

3rd: Dell Dimension C521 w/XP Media Center Edition - SOLD...helped to buy my LX6200-01 when the HP broke (actually fried itself...and took literally EVERY component but the power supply. :(

You can see that both my dad's computer (1st) and my new computer (2nd) are pretty top-of-the-line (Especially mine!!!)

Now let's see what some of the rest of you have, and if you don't know what a part of your computer is, then don't post it. :o

Come on now, don't be ashamed! :hehe: :p

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.0 GHz x2)

640 GB Hard Drive w/ 320 GB backup external drive
ATI Radeon HD 4850 (512 MB)
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
Logitech X-540 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers, almost perfect for trainzin'!

How do you find that ATI 4850 graphics card Saintjimmy? What kind of FPS do you get in built up areas?

Well, here is my 4850 that I purchased, and I got a free GRID game with it (so why not?), and it runs better than I thought possible!:hehe: On a route like Marias Pass, I get probably anything from 20 fps in a place like downtown Kalispell to between 40 and 50 (just a guess, it's just really smooth!) when cruising between Shelby and Glacier Park. There are some routes & areas where it may dip below 20, but never below 14 fps, that was the lowest I saw it go, and it was on a route called "Route 66".
The route is super graphics intensive and the author said it required a 3.0 GHz processor, 2+ GB of RAM, and at least a 512 meg graphics card to get decent performance, and he/she was right!!!

But to tell the truth, I am more than satisfied with all the performance I can get out of it. I also turn up the fan on it to keep it cool when playing games for hours on end.:o It may be noisier, but if it means better results in fps and more stability, then I am all for it!

Only listing the main one, as I've no idea what are in the others at the moment, this one just got a new Mobo and Proc last week:
Core 2 Duo E8500
4 GB DDR2 ram

MSI GeForce 8800GT (the 2 slot one with the heatpipes and the high clock rate)
My old Creative Labs Audigy Platinum soundcard and drive bay
2 DVD/RW drives, one with lightscribe
19" Viewsonic VX924

Oh heck I'll throw mine in the mix
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ (3.2ghz)
4GB DDR2 800 (4x 1GB DDR2 1066)
DFI 790FX-M2RS (socket AM2/AM2+)
ATI HD4870 512MB GDDR5
Creative XF-I Fatal1ty
1TB Western Digital SATA II (3x 500GB)
2 Lite-on DVD+RW w/Lightscribe (one of things you may not use but cool none the less)
Windows Vista Business 64-bit

Trainz FPS: 30-120 with no drop below 30 and zero loading lag.

My old Trainz comp

I run a Packard Bell 6810 SLI connected to a 19 inch Xerox TFT monitor and Logitech Z-10 speakers. It runs TC3 easily, which it seems is quite a good benchmark powerwise.

Nice thanks for that, it really does seem like the bargin of the moment this card. The price/performance ratio is amazing!
