Well, this is officially my last post...

After some very lengthy though an consideration have decided I am leaving the Trainz forum. First of all, I would like to say that it was certainly not an easy decision to make. However it was nothing anyone here has said or any way any individual has acted. Also the moderators and the way they do their job had nothing to do with with my decision. It is a personal desicion that I have made, and I would much prefer to leave it at that. (No speculation on why I left, please) It also needs to be said that as I have started a few projects for trainz that now they are officially cancelled. I will still check private messages, but I may not answer them. I would like to thank all of you here that have been very helpful and kind, you all know who you are. And, yes, like I stated in the subject line, this is my last post.

It also needs to be said that as I have started a few projects for trainz that now they are officially cancelled.

Not sure if this would suit, but instead of cancelling them, perhaps an idea maybe to ask someone else if they would like to complete them.

There is nothing disgraceful about his exit. He has been polite and honest. You on the other hand never seem to say anything constructive. You only seem to pull people apart for your own gratification, much to the annoyance of others. Just for once why can't you be polite. You have only been on the forums a couple of weeks longer than me and not once have you given any decent comments. It's time to grow up and be a man.

I find nothing disgraceful about it. It's just puzzling to me why people start these threads. My wife says that when I leave a party, that I always have to make my 'goodbye tour' before I leave. Maybe he's just making his 'goodbye tour'

And Bernie, I was always taught that if you couldn't say something nice about someone, say nothing. Some good advice.

It is not good advice at all!

It all depends on who the person in question is. Extreme examples: shouldn't people have spoken up more then they did when Hitler took power or Stalin or Pol Pot to name but a few?

Shouldn't people speek up now and address human rights violations in China while the attention of the world is on the Olympics?

Too many people for too long didn't say or do anything while a million people were killed in Rwanda.

I have nothing nice to say about dictators, corrupt politicians or fraudulent companies; should I say nothing?

Tell that to the people who keep hitting my Karma button ... anonymously ... the cowards. People have a tendency to not speak up when it really matters and before they now it it is too late. The average Trainz user is not different from the average Joe at all.

Because you are one of the few who also speaks his mind I guess.

Tyrants will not be stopped by posting on games forums indeed, but how can you expect to ever change anything ( for the better ) when you don't even dare to speak up on a games forum? How are you going to protest the wrongs of the world when you don't dare to speak up in public but hit an anonymous karma button on an even more obscure site?

Is it surprising that time and again the UN is not capable of intervening when some atrocity happens anywhere in the world? To me it isn't because the same cowardice we see on these games forums here we see in every day life where people do not speak or stand up when people in the world still die of hunger and disease while other countries use billions upon billions of Dollars to buy weapons.

But I shouldn't speak up because I don't have anything nice to say about any dictator that oppresses his people. When people stop talking, when people stop protesting we lose our freedom. And every struggle for freedom or change starts small.

Remember you need a free society first before you can publicly dislike me
