Auran have done it again, the Merged route is on the DS in a day. Now that's what I can Service with a capitol S.

It solves all your problems - I hope - so off you go and get it.

It's a great run, very pleasant from the cab, but you will notice how my route building techniques have changed over time. I expect this is due to the vast amount of high quality assets that have become available since it all started. Yes, I remember those days using the original Trainz well and know that 2010 is such an amazing advance.
Auran should be congratulated on their progress through the years. Yes, I know they brought 2010 out only a year after 09 but it is a better version and maybe there was a valid reason that us mortal are not aware of that it was not practical to send out a patch for 09 to bring it up to 2010 standards. And that's apart from the extra work that had to go into doing it, they are a business after all and a group of people have to be paid for their expertise.
I don't moan about paying for a new version, they are not all that expensive after all and don't break the bank. And once you have the latest version you have the world at your finger tips, even wobbling trees!

One day I might even get to use my copy of 2010, but at the moment the 3rd section of the WCL series is taking all my time up and getting used to 2010 would take a great chunk out of that. So 2004 keeps going here, at least until September. After that, we'll see. Perhaps then I shall take the break I really needed to take now and have put off, I am a bit Trainz weary.

yes, that certainly was quick! But we still have to hear from Auran on this problem of merging in 2010, surely one of them is reading this thread?

Anyway, I am sure that all those unable to merge your two sections will be grateful for your prompt reaction to their requests. Well done again Angela!

I downloaded the merged route about 5 minutes after you'd posted that you'd uploaded it to the DLS. Guess the server move wasn't all bad after all

I did drop a hint, but it was very nice of Vendel to come forward so quickly, they are a really nice bunch. I use a lot of their assets, even the non-English ones as they seem to fit in very well with the countryside here.

Which assets are you still missing? Perhaps you could PM me with them?
It is a bit of a puzzle because nobody else has mentioned this, but if I can see the kuid numbers I should be able to identify what they are.

Did you click the Pre-SP3 square on the DS search? You will need to. It's the very bottom one.

Kuid 132574:39000 not on the D/S by "Patricia B".
Kuid 49338:29001 Bus not on the D/S by "Buzz313th".
Kuid 2:68608:10050:2 Pass cars. not on the D/S.

Can they be replaced with alternatives.

Hi..Angelah.Managed to download the combined routes with no trouble..I am not in anway being critical.... just thought the info would be useful..and save folks looking for the "No path to"reason.Had to fix a rail break at Hungerford,only way I could do it was replacing the station(Weird),also there is one at Pewsey.
Great route might go the rest of the way..The bit at Dawlish along the sea wall and the tunnels is quite a challenge..done it several times already and each time is an improvement.I have a great little book on just that section,lots of pictures, by Ark Publications..purchased it at the rail shop at Paignton..Also have the Bristol to Taunton Signal box diagrams by G A Pryor,and the south Devon ones by R A Cooke,left over from my model railway days..so lots of good info to go on...Another interesting bit is the Cogload Junction where the down Bristol line crosses over the top of the Westbury lines.. Leonard.

I think some if not all of the pre-sp3 content has been removed from the DLS. You might want to consider replacing those objects with SP3 versions of the items, where available. I know from experience that several Tafweb items you've used on other routes show up as unknown in TS2010. Searching for the same item via the website will bring up the info on the object, but the download link is disabled and it says "Not available." However he has SP3 versions of most if not all of his items. More details here:

The two GWR sections are the only ones that have caused me any problems during a merge, in TS2010 John.

During beta testing and in the retail TS2010, i have merged many other routes. Which have not given me cause for concern.

Haven't the foggiest! Did that section 3 years ago and I can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday....

This is odd. I ran that section before the merge and it was fine. Reading your post I went onto the merged section and found every AJS station had disconnected track. This must have happened during the merge.
So folks, it will be necessary to go through each AJS station and reconnect.

The Dawlish section will come in Mark's area of operations as he is working from Penzance to Plymouth, while I am going Paddington to Plymouth and we should meet there and shake hands.

Yes, I admit it, there are missing or rather 'No longer available' assets on the first section. This was created when they were still active of course and I had forgotten about them.
The Actros Harsch truck is no longer available, I checked.
But it may be possible to remove these items from the config file? Has anybody tried this?
None of them are route threatening, just buses and a truck so far. I will TO the whole route tomorrow though and check the others.

I would be glad to do the dem for you, specially as it fits onto Angela's section.
But you will have to be patient as I have a sick wife to care for and it is not an instant process! Hopefully about a week, John.

Edit: I forgot to ask in which edition of Trainz you would like it, I am working in 2010 myself, but apart from this, only have TC3 installed. I do have 2004 which I could install if required.

I have three unknown assets which are now unavailable and some have been mentioned here previously.
What I did in the config file was search for the KUIDs of these items and changed them to be the same as the one above. I don't know if the numbering system of the KUIDs in the config file is important or not. I assume not but having the same KUID twice in the config file doesn't seem to matter.

Just for interest, the KUIDs in question are:
49338:29001
9:21019
2:68608:10050:2

The missing Tafweb ones can be found on his web page - both the pre-SP3 ones and the later ones.

The Actros Harsch truck is no longer available, I checked.

The truck is definitely in the pack I linked to, because I'd previously installed it for Bristol Temple Meads. And I double checked the file.
(I don't actually have the route mentioned here yet.) Some of the SP3 versions of Tafweb's items are included with TS2010 as built-in items. He didn't build them with an obsolete-table though. For routes that wanted older versions of an item, I basically made a copy of the item with the pre-SP3 kuid. Making an obsolete-table would probably be better for TS2010, but that would require editing built-in items in some cases.
