WCL 2

Don't think so...

My bad, thank you for you reply anyhow. I think i know how to do it now by altering the texture.txt file to correspond with the colours used in the o.s. maps

Ian

Ian,
I don't think so, but I am no expert. There's a program you need and I can't remember what it's called.

However, I am sure somebody who uses the program for making DEMs will come forward and point you in the right direction.

Hi Angela,
the maps, which are put onto the dems using Transdem, are from Streetmap. As you apply scenery in Trainz these are covered so that eventually the Hog textures are not needed, but initially they are an accurate guide for placing main track, roads, buildings, lakes, rivers etc.
I have checked for the dem that you asked for and I still have the original copy as a cdp, but excess boards have still to be trimmed off, and the basic track laying (using gradient profiles) as I did for WCL2 has still to be done.
Bye the way, we are talking about the Penzance-Plymouth section???
I noticed whilst checking this that I have a winrar file with all (seven?) sections of the WCL merged and the size of the file is 142mb!! What it would be with all track and scenery I hate to think!!
Must go now, duty calls,
John.

I've painted baseboards before using the hog programme, by altering the texture.txt file to create large bulk areas of a colour such as fields and to "paint on" roads and railways using my own traced tiger data.

I think your right in that it won't get the detail of the O.S. map, by doing it my way, but it would work to some degree as the O.S. do use a standard colour system on all their maps.

I think I may invest in Transdem.

Hi Ian,
Yes, that's it. Transdem, couldn't remember it.
