Having TZ12 already intalled. Now route I purchased
states it will only work in TZ10 version. When I tried
to install TZ10 get option asking "do you want to intall as stand alone or add on
to existing trainz instalation."
Q. What will be correct way to install TZ 10, stand alone or addon to
exsiting instalation.

Thank You.

In general what is the purpose of the question b4 instalation.
1. If I want to install as stand alone or add-on to existing instalation?
2. Will having both versions install on same computer creates problem?
3. If route design only for TZ2010, after instalation of 2010 I need to use
CM of 2010 version to import route/deps files?
If members know answers to my questions, please reply.

Thank You.

I would normally advise installing TS2010 as a standalone version, but be aware that this will cause some unexpected behaviour when downloading from the web-based DLS.

I purchased 2010 as well and installed as "standalone". Haven't had an issue as of yet running either one.

The only issue I know of with an installation of 2012 and 2010 on the same machine is that if you want to download from the DLS you must ensure that the installations go to the version of trainz you prefer. The way that works for me is that if I want to install to TS2010, I first open the 2010 CMP. In that case your downloads will go to TS2010's CMP. On the other hand, if you want to install to TS2012, open 2012's CMP first, then do the download, and the asset will go to its CMP. You are right, if you make a download without first making this type of selection, which version it goes to seems to be a crap shoot, but the solution is not a big problem, as you can see. If you are downloading CDPs, as from a private site, then just download and save them, then use the "import CDPs" utility in the CMP you prefer. I am doing about the same thing you are and have had no problems attributable to that.

Looks like I am having this issue afterall. Downloaded/installed "Clinchfield 2010" using 2010 CMP but it looks as if it installed to the 2012 version. Need to figure this out when I get home.

I'm curious, what route was it?

Hello.
I think somewhere "path" to, in Your installation
point to TZ12. Can not say any more on the subject.
I am still working on patching my TZ10. For some
reason patcher path was set for TZ12.
Hope it helps. Good luck.

Jack.
