Underground mining?

Again, I found the Mancha mine locos, but does anyone know where to get mining cars to go along with it? I've searched several keywords ect with no luck.
You can use Gerd's 600mm wagons, substituting my 18in bogie (kuid2:37096:50165:1) for his 600mm ones in the config file.

For your junctions make a track section with just the the base of the tunnel and the track. Make your shell without a base so it just fits over the top. Make a switch lever object without a visible lever and set the offset to zero. As the Red/Green arrows centre on the lever object you can see the arrows in the tunnel, no need to go out into the real world to change a switch

Do a forum search for 'Chicago Tunnel Company' to see how we did it. That route is 54 miles of 2 foot gauge tunnels, over 400 switches, and traincar elevators and not a light leak anywhere.

There may be some interesting news coming about that route.

Hello

<......no need to go out into the real world to change a switch > I am sorry but you can use the ctrl button and your left mouse button to set the switch in cab mode. Or you can use the map (ctrl + M).

<....Make a switch lever object without a visible lever...> why? If you place the trackspline then automaticly comes the lever.

<'Chicago Tunnel Company' > thats a interesting route but i like rock tunnels more.

I am solving the light leak problem to.

Thanks for your tips.

Hello

a small update. It is now so small that it looks only good in cab mode. If you use any other camera view then you watch trough the walls.

And we need a smaller loco.......poor driver. He needs a helm.

I googled the Chicago Tunnel Company. I had no idea that even existed. What a neat little railroad. It ran into the 50's and most Chicago residents didn't even know it was there either.

If in 06 (or anything with CMP or CM2) go into the start menu, 'my computer' then 'desktop' then make a folder called, let's say, 'trainz mining'. the open the file in winrar, highlight all, right click and go 'extract to the specified folder'. Locate 'trainz mining', then double click on it. Finally, open CMP and click 'file>import content'. Locate 'trainz mining' again and double click on it. Then commit all files.

Hope it helps,

Chris:cool:

Hello

Thank you for trying my content.

Yes it is a RAR. Just what Chris says. Thank you Chris for your tip.

Have fun.

Hello all,

For what worth it is, I have on the DLS from today one single item for the 18inch tunnel scene that might be of some use in addition to the tunnel spline I uploaded earlier.

There is a left hand junction asset now - but it is quite some work setting it up as it is not a junction in it self.

KUID is: 77573:381804:1
Name is:18in tnl(ng) Jct25dg left

Hope this might be of some tiny use. :)

It is a TRS2004 onward item, it is found under the scenery tab as it is of the Kind Buildable type having a few small pieces of attached track to it of the MAN6 invisible track.

When putting it into Trainz, inside Surveyor, click on the ? button to (hopefully" get a short, understandable description on how to use this model of a junction.

Because, you have to make the junction your self, this is actually only a shell type but with a few pieces of track attached at each ends.
Use my rail only 35lb 18inch track - there is now 3 different lengths on the DLS that will fit this job.
Personally I use the 0,5m length track for the junction lead in part, and then the 1,5m track for the curved part, and the 3m length for the straight part. At least that is how I remember doing it. I might just leave the 3m out of the junction all together, so in case I ever share a map with this stuff, don't hold me to the above text. LOL
All those 3 tracks are equally made, they have segments each 25cm making them very "curveable" and still looking nice. But, they also have a low LOD version that is the length given with no segments at all.
I use the shortest track for the junction lead in as the lead in part has to be very short in order to fit into the place allocated for the junction inside the shell I made for it.

So, here's the info for the track on the DLS:
0,5m:
KUID is: 77573:381813:1
Name is:18inch MRT (0,5m) 35lbs. mine track - underground (SC)

1,5m:
KUID is: 77573:381808:1
Name is:18inch MRT (1,5m) 35lbs. mine track - underground (SC)3,0m:
KUID is: 77573:381802:1
Name is:18inch MRT (3m) 35lbs. mine track - for jct tunnels (SC)

I hope this might be of some use to somebody, I have had fun playing with this over the years - but then again, I maybe done about 1month play in full over the last 3 years or so...
I don't use Trainz much anymore, life's to hard... :(

Hence I'm not active doing this anymore, also bear in mind that I might be very on/off on both replying and maybe fixing stuff that might not work perfect.

Best wishes

Linda

Next Idea?

Maybe someone could make a session with this stuff and it could be based on suppling coal by going down into mine then coming back to surface so some larger gauge train can pick it up.

(Multiplayer idea!)

Hello,

As the track is now on the DLS, I've edited both my posts and removed the link to the files direct. You have to visit the DLS to get them now.

To FlyingScottmond - I have had such a thing in mind ever since I made some of this stuff, but I never got around to do it.

What holds me back is the script part for the industry items, but judging from this thread, I say there are at least other people more capable then me that might step up and make this come true. :)

For now, I at least go away again till next time mood strikes.

Best wishes all

18Inch Mine Tunnel Causes Trainz2006 it Crash, CMP Lockup & Fatal Error

I downloaded the "18Inch Mine Tunnel" and it causes a "Fatal Error". It caused the CMP to stop working in TRS2006.

To Fix this:

You have to open for edit in explorer and change the asset-filename line: "edit 6xdm1o0618" to instead read : "tunnel" , and then commit the asset.

Hi cascaderailroad,

I hope it was not my track that caused that, I think you talk about the lilb beta file, right?

I haven't checked out his tunnel in anything other then TS2009, but will when I can check it out in TRS2006 to see if I can make any sense of it.

Sorry to about the crash/fatal error.

Best wishes

Linda

Correction 18Inch Mine tunnel now works in TRS2006

After reading in the Lilbs Forum...to get the 18Inch Mine Tunnel to work in TRS2006 & 2004 you have to open for edit in explorer and change the: Asset-Filename (edit and change the line): "edit 6xdm1o0618" to instead read: "tunnel".

Underground Mining

I thought that I'd bump this interesting thread, as I was experimenting on Underground Mining. Opens up a whole new world of subterrainian Trainz.

See...Bumping old threads can be a good thing !
