Some question I have.

I noticed a while ago that RRMods made most of their older payware for free, and that made me wonder if other sites could also do that? Now It sounds weird and like i'm forcing them, but no, most addons are a decade old like the RRmods payware so to make them free sounds questionable to some, but possibly a little reasonable, but what do you guys think? should others like Jointedrail make their content free? I will let you guys decide, this is NOT something anyone has to do, but it is an idea that's being thrown out there. (Also side note why is most jointedrail content so pricey?)

Having been a Trainz customer for many years, I have seen older payware become free from other content creators, including JointedRail and RRMods. The reality is that older content gets replaced by newer. Some of it gets shifted over to another creator. As for pricing, this is way better than you will ever find for any real scale models. You may think it is pricey, but that is a matter of opinion.

I understand, the quality is amazing, the scripts are quite nice, but some prices concern me, for example at a time, the prices were $11.25 for just 1 locomotive, which is weird since that should be like, the price for two of them. Even if the quality of said model is very well made, it should be fair to at least lower the price a little bit.

that price is the new normal due to Inflations Costs...

It's called the cost of creating above average quality content. The software used isn't all free and there are subscriptions to pay for.

You don't just get one locomotive. You can place multiple copies of the same model and use it on multiple routes and there are also multiple variations within the same model such as additional weathering, paint variations, and aging applied each time the same model is placed.

One locomotive not as in just A locomotive, obviously you can place as many as needed, I just think a pack of 2 or something for a price like that would seem a tad fair, and yeah I also get the modelling software is not free and the different textures of some trains. But like I mentioned, maybe add another unit in there for a slightly more reasonable price.

Is thirty bucks an hour reasonable pay? These things can take way more than a hundred hours to create. Take off 30% for handling the sales side and you up in the sell three hundred and fifty copies to think about making a profit. Well seven hundred if you're throwing in one for free. Now look at the download counts on the DLS. There aren't that many with three hundred downloads and that's free downloads.

The sums don't add up.
