Hi jytte, This is one of the problems with using Archive files I mention. How on earth do you un-archive an asset??
I delete the archive, I even delete the asset and download it again, but no matter what, it still shows up as 'archived'.
Not a problemThank you both,
I just had another crash, so it took me a while to get back to this.
I thought I had looked everywhere, DUH. Once I found the archive list in the settings, everything makes sense, and I'm able to un-archive the way I want.
Sorry to be such an airhead, and thanks again.
Jytte
For example you Archive a layout under its name and it will Archive ALL the dependencies for that layout. You then Archive another layout and again it will Archive ALL the dependencies for that layout. Now in both layouts you may/will have common files (buildings etc) so you now have some content in both Archive files.
Hi Jytte,
To filter non archive do this:
Search
Location Local + NOT Location Archive
I call this NON ARCHIVE
Personally I dislike the Archive function because it is hard to determine which archive an asset is in when you have multiple cmpa fies on CD or DVD, bearing in mind that max size of any archive should not exceed 2GB otherwise search MB counter runs backwards. Also a limitation on 32 bit OS I believe.
However you can use the cmpa files to transfer between versions TRS2006 upwards.
As you get up in to the mega GB size local file, I have >250GB at moment, it might be less bother to setup an USB2 external HD say 500GB or 750GB as a backup media rather than using myriads of CD or DVD discs. Reasonably cheap these days.
