ugly trains

Now THIS is ugly. Thank god it got scrapped after the US Army took it with them to America xD
Now, that has to be Flash Gordon's train! Definitely qualifies for this thread...

Do you think the CN U4a's look ugly? 'Cause they look like someone fused a steam loco and an F7 diesel loco together.
I personally love the U4a, one of my favourite CNR (1 or 2) and Canadian steamers (4 or 5), I particularly loved it on 1939 Royal Train Blue.

Reason I post this is the question WHY would you Streamline a fireless engine used for SHUNTING?

Probably a art decco thingy ... to make it look spiffy, and modern ... a precursor to Thomas, where they put faces and eyeballs on a twain, and a mouth that made it look like the loco was saying: "Doahhhhh" !

While on the topic of fireless locomotives, this is "An air-powered (fireless) locomotive on display at Bankhead, Alberta in Banff National Park" according to its description, apparently once used in coal mining where fires of any kind could be dangerous:

Being that you can hardly tell it is even a locomotive in the first place, it earns an award for UGLY!

Oh oh oh oh, the southern pacific AC-1 cab forwards, it has the flat front instead F the slightly triangular one on the later versions.

You shut your mouth, the Black Diamond inspection loco is beautiful.

The Listol and Ballybunion Rauilway(Lartigue Monorail system)

In my opinion, not ugly, but unique. For those that didn't know.. L&B Locomotives, Rolling Stock and Track are on the DLS!

Now, don't trip over the track... :hehe:(If this has been mentioned already... Oops! :o)

The great thing about the Listowel & Ballybunion Monorail is that you can still have a go on it...although the preserved line isn't very long (about 1km), I hope they extend it one day.
In my eyes the Class 41 isn't particularly ugly but maybe I'm just used to it.

If this has already been posted, sorry:

The strange paintjob confuses me. Also, the coupler placement makes it look like the locomotive is screaming in eternal agony after seeing what It looked like in the mirror.

There are 2 MIB's there

When Corporate sends out the "Suits" ... and they order a carman to purposely cut an airhose with a saw, then the "Suit" proceeds to wrap 4 rolls of 3/4" 3M electrical tape around the cut airhose ... and tells you to turn the air on to 90 PSI ... the bubble begins to grow ... and grow ... and grow ... to the size of an eggplant ... then BLAM MO ! ... back to the old drawing board ... There are some things that just can't be fixed with duct tape !

You just can't fix: "stupid" ! Buy them books, and send them to school ... and they eat the books !
