Hallo,

many people asked at several ways about the availability of the Milwaukee Road Avery - Drexel - Route.

At the moment this particular route has been released as built-in content at Trainz Simulator 2010 - Engineers Edition (TS2010) exclusively.

Trainz Simulator 2010 - Engineers Edition (TS2010) is available at the N3V shop at:
http://www.simulatorcentral.com/catalog/product/view/sku/TRAINZ2010EE

Just see the following video to get an imagination what this released Avery - Drexel - Route at TS2010 looks like.

Please note the latest screens been released in this forum thread where captured as "work in progress" screenshots to indicate the work state of my Avery-Drexel-Route-Update. Therefore the latest screens does not indicate anything which has been released yet.

At the moment I am about to create seasonal rolling stock and seasonal locomotives for the refurbished and seasonal Avery-Drexel-Route. I unfortunately can not promise or name a release date yet.

Enjoy trainz.

Hallo benjaminw,

Sorry for such a late answer – I used to be away during the last days.
Unfortunately I don’t have an answer about this problem. Its may something particular in connection with your PC or with the installation. Perhaps you can get better results if you install TS2010 again. If you do so, be sure you don’t remove your custom folders during the uninstallation which is necessary before you can install TS2010 again. I guess you also have installed the latest graphic drivers.

I am sorry, but that’s all want I can write about your problem. Perhaps you already attempt something of it before. I never heard any problem like this about that route before.

I hope you can get it solved.
All the best.

I had already re-installed the game but it didn't help but I re-installed the video drivers and that fixed it. Thanks!!!!:D

This route was built in to my 2006 Version????

Also does anybody know WHERE to get that motorhome in the 44th photo on myspace??? if it's on the Download Station, what do i type in???

I don't understand? Are you redoing the bridges or adding speed trees? I have this route and besides the traffic in the pics and the bridges looking a little more detailed, it looks like the same great route in 2006

@ boyerm25

Hallo - and thanks a lot. Yes English is not my first language and I did not really learned in school. Just to get it I went about one year to Scotland during my study and so I needed to speak it all day. Finally that was the right way to put the words into my mind - but I did not write too much and therefore my spelling knowledge is quite poor - shame on me.
But again - thank you very much :-)

@Williamb73:

thank you for the compliment as you wrote "great route from 2006.
But you should go several pages back in my forum thread. I posted a lot of screens from the refurbished route which has been captured twice. One screen in summer appearance and one screen taken at the same position in snowy appearance.
Yes, the refurbished route now supports 100% season change. To make this possible I just needed to do the following stuff:
- creation and replacement of all ground texture used in that route
- creation and replacement of all DLS content used in that route
- creation and replacement of all of my own content originally used in that route
- creation of several more details inside the route e.g. at Avery, Saltese and Mullan

All together I just created about 900 seasonal replacements for the assets originally used in that route. After that I did the replacement and mostly I had to do that by hand as the replacement tool often is not suitable to meet quality requirements.

It is very nice if you find the 2006 route great, but the new one is a lot different - just check the screens a bit more carefully :-)

@kwt96:

No, the motorhome has not been released yet.

Tume,

The July/August/September 2013 issue (issue #98) of The Railroad Press has a REALLLLYYYYY nice article on Avery Idaho and the Milwaukee road..... Lots of pictures.....Looks like there is a house track behind the Depot in Avery....

@ n8phu:

Hallo and thank you very much for your information. I will need to check if I can purchase this issue #98.

@ all:

Here comes just some new seasonal rail cars for my seasonal Milwaukee Road Avery-Drexel-Route. To save on time, I bought the original mesh. I needed to do a lot of texture work and texture placement changes at the mesh to get nice looking locking results especially for the snowy version.

Still I need to find out how to support seasonal functionality at open hopper loads which works by using texture replacement rather than to use its own mesh inside the product asset. Therefore the cars at the moment supports full seasonal functionality but the load does not – for now.

Eventually I created open hoppers for the IC, UP and GN.

As far as I know it was quite common that UP and GN cars used to be carried over the MILW line. But I just don’t know if a IC car ever made it up to Avery, Id – well here it did :-)

More seasonal freight cars including seasonal loads

Hallo,

here my latest creations of seasonal freight cars lined up at Avery, Id.

This time I could get several centerbeam flatcars working within season change.

In the opposite to boxcars or tank cars any loads of such centerbeam flatcars is visible.
Therefore creation of seasonal loads became necessary as well.

superb job by "Konig Winter Expert Tume"

Grusse Dich,hallo Freund!

Absolut spitze, superb seasonsl work trainz chef. Cook 5 stsrs.:mop:
if you allow me to help out for spraying the CN and CPR engines and rolling stock let me know i could free some time for that in between my route building as seasonal is a real must and so far mine is restricted to ground textures and some buildings.
Hope you sre doing well.

[TD="class: midtext"]Hallo - yes I am fine thank you - I hope you too :-)

I don't see any problems that you go to create some seasonal CN and CPR engines. If you find a creator who already created such locos and he would allow you to do the required reskins.
Probably I will create some seasonal CN and CPR boxcars to have some other cars as part of my trains rather than MILW cars exclusively.

But for now here comes some new seasonal loads for my flatcar set.

Amazing stuff Tume. I do have one suggestion tho, the log load on the flatcars in the winter look a bit strange. You would only see snow on top of the logs, the underside you wouldnt see any snow on, dont know how that could be fixed. But great stuff.

Hallo,

yes, I agree the snowy logs looks terrible :-)
that logs actually used to be my first seasonal load assets. I just needed a quick example to test something out while working at the seasonal content.
Therefore I created these simple loads just for testing but never changed it into a final version.

But after your commend I just reworked these loads and I hope it now meets reality better :-)

@ Railwoodman:

Thank you for your compliment. Yes the route has originally been released within TS2010. During the last year I updated the route and all of its content required to support full season change. The route and the scenery content update has been finished so far. Now I am working hard to get the cars and locos updated. After that I need to create sessions. After that I want to release the bundle as soon as possible so people can play with in and/or can use the seasonal assets in they're own routes.

I wonder if it would be possible to make "snow" particle effects coming out from the wheels while the train is at speed. It could be a togglable option so you could turn it off if you didnt like it or you had a lower-end computer. This might be a lot of work, I have no idea how these things are done, bu I think it could really create that winter atmosphere. Just a suggestion that I think might be cool.

@ hert:

Thanks a lot ;-)

@ Spanderson:

Such a feature would be great - not only for snow. If a train speeds through dry areas there is also a lot of dust coming up. The dust effect would probably have to be maintained by using less particles as the snow effect. But to control the particle color and the number of particles would probably not the biggest issue.
Lets call this a seasonal bogey particle effect which of course needs to depend on the speed, the season (snow or no snow) and the whether. We would probably not see much dust coming up at a rainy day - right?

Such an effect could be introduced by adding some script and a.smoke-points to my new seasonal bogeys which I just created anyway. Perhaps the Third Party Content Manager at N3V could provide some help as well. But you already mentioned the performance problem yourself. If I imagine one of my transcontinental MILW-trains with about 130 cars, the PC would have to maintain a lot of particles. Of course there would be some possibilities to reduce such a large number of particles - e.g. by using LOD mechanisms. Also you already mentioned the possibility to switch this effect off. But all this can not be done by simple scripts in my opinion. N3V would need to touch the source of trainz itself, which can not be done in a few days - I guess :-)

But I will ask if the introduction of such a effect - which would of course looking great - could be done in the future.

Below comes three more versions of my seasonal flat car set including new seasonal steel pipe loads.
