TUME’s Simulation of “The Milwaukee Road”

R.I.P.

Hallo Paul,

just enjoy it :)

Hallo @ all,

there is a cemetery just out of Mullan, Id.
Of course this one also needs to be created by using seasonal assets.

Due to the leak of seasonal graves at DLS I created some graves made as seasonal LOD splines.

I must say during my work at these assets I got reminded to some people and the fact that one day it will be all over.

The stones does not outline any names, but these assets are dedicated to my father and some of my friends and some of our trainz people who passed away during the last years.

Tume,

Astounding work!

Next thing you know, your human figures will have seasonal clothes!

Thank you all for your compliments!!!

@ DominikB:
It will be released in a bundle - the route and the content.
I cannot say when as I still have something to do at the route and I also need to create seasonal locos and rolling stock.

You should check the screen with the bulldozer again. Just pay attention to the driver in the different seasons - perhaps you will explore something :-)

Hi Tume. I like the Spartan Travel Trailers. When I was a child, my Grandfather used to own a 1953 Spartan Imperial Manson. He had totally restored and remodeled it himself. I was looking at my old family photos and found a photo of the trailer. Thank you for bringing the memories of my childhood back.

> He is wearing a touque and scarf! You did not miss a single thing, did you? <
Yes I already considered that I did not create an ear protection to protect the driver from the noise. Do you mean this? Oh yes – I also did not put the cables and rollers in front of the dozer required to move the plough up and down. I considered it but then my mind simply lost it somewhere between the many trainz stuff which needs to be maintained :-)

@ speedbumptrucker1:

Thank you for such a compliment. Its very nice to see that my work reminded you to your childhood. Do your family still own that trailer? Thank you also for sharing the photo. These trailer must have really been very impressive.
At the first Avery-Drexel-route (released as builtin content within TS2010) I used some camper trailer from the DLS mainly as homes for the workers at the construction side of the Interstate 90. But with the new Avery-Drexel-route I want to support full season change and therefore replacement creation for nearly all assets became necessary. Last week it was time to do the camper trailers.

@ Tume:
My family does not own the trailer anymore. The trailer was close to 40 feet long. My Grandfather sold it about 15 years ago. He had it parked at a trailer resort at a place called Lake Tyee which is near Concrete, WA and Sedro Wooley, WA near Mt. Baker. The trailer was on a property lot that my Grandfather owned at the resort. He had built a full gazebo deck around the trailer.
Seasonal Trailers

@ speedbumptrucker1:

This lake looks like a nice place to be :-)
Three weeks in summer 2002 and again three weeks in summer 2004 I just traveled through the Canadian Rocky Mountains using a Motor Home. I was never enjoyed a holyday trip that much before. Back that time I tried to put some of my impressions into Trainz 1.3 and later into UTC, but I could not get any terrain only files for the CP. I mailed to Paul Haglund who used to create several subdivisions from US-RRs and asked him to create the CP portion between Vancouver and Calgary. Unfortunately he could not get the required terrain data back that time but he offered to do any US-RR I want. Therefore I decided to go for the MILW – my favorite RR. And now – after about 9 years of route and content creation – here I am :-)

@ all:

I created just some new trailers for my seasonal Avery-Drexel. The set now includes several scenery assets but it will eventually been extended to provide the same trailers as Piggy-Back-loads as well.
The screens below indicates a MILW trailer behind a Kenworth Tractor just beside the tracks at Haugan, Mt.

More Trailers

Hallo,

just some more trailers – seen at the Interstate 90 rest area at Haugan, Mt.
These trailers will also be released as seasonal scenery assets and as seasonal commodity for Piggy-Back-Flatcars as well.

Seasonal Rolling Stock

@ flyboy559:
Hallo, its nice to see that I sometimes can help to bring up some remembrances about old times up in peoples mind :-)

Hallo @ all:
Now, after replacement creation for all of the ground-textures , tracks, splines and scenery objects, I started to create seasonal rolling stock.
The screens indicates the first results, a set of three boxcars at the siding behind the Avery depot building . It supports season change depending on the snow line level as well as randomly changed running numbers and changing of several commodities.

This is payware quality of a route one of the best routes I have seen. Great job.
Also how could I convert senery or freight cars to be sesonal?

Additional 50ft boxcars

Hallo CattyPatty,

thank you for your compliment :-)
It is quite hard to turn a non seasonal car to a seasonal car because the mesh needs to be changed as a new arrangement of the attachment points is necessary. It is not enough to make just a snowy reskin of the car in order to arrange it within the no snow version in a new asset folder.
Right now I don’t have the time to create a tutorial which would be the best. At least these cars will be released in the near future and the people can learn from the cars itself – perhaps much better than from a tutorial :-)

The screens below indicates three additional 50ft boxcars at a siding behind the Avery Roundhouse. Later the DF-boxcar will come up as a 40Ft version as well.

More seasonal rail cars for the Milwaukee Road

Hallo,

just some more seasonal rail cars for the Milwaukee Road.

This time I did not create the cars from scratch. I just used the wonderful "Undec PS2 4750 Cu Ft Covered Hopper" done by "Conn McCarthy" and upgraded by N8PHU later on.

Thank you very much - both of you - for this very nice undecorated asset where people can go to create versions for several RRs from.

As covered by the license I created the seasonal reskins for a MILW Covered Hopper and it will be uploaded at DLS as soon as I created seasonal hoppers for other RRs as well. In addition to this I am thinking about creation of another mesh extension to get running numbers onto that car as well as it still needs seasonal bogeys.

The screens indicates the hoppers at the Avery yard just in front of the substation operators bungalows.

Hallo @ all,
just some screens from Avery-Drexel-Alpha-Testing.
I need to check something e.g. the functionality of the tracking cameras been placed along the whole way and that one view range fades nicely into the next one.
The screens views an eastbound moving into tunnel 35, exiting tunnel 34 and crossing Stetson Bridge and the Motor Creek Trestle.

Hello, I have a question, I bought TS2010 when it came out and was excited to see your route in it. but whenever I try o play it, it makes Trainz crash, or when it does load it is extremely slow (lag). (takes five minutes to get A Little Joe to three MPH on full throttle). Is there any way to fix this.

Hallo benjaminw,

Sorry for such a late answer – I used to be away during the last days.
Unfortunately I don’t have an answer about this problem. Its may something particular in connection with your PC or with the installation. Perhaps you can get better results if you install TS2010 again. If you do so, be sure you don’t remove your custom folders during the uninstallation which is necessary before you can install TS2010 again. I guess you also have installed the latest graphic drivers.

I am sorry, but that’s all want I can write about your problem. Perhaps you already attempt something of it before. I never heard any problem like this about that route before.

I hope you can get it solved.
All the best.
