Tumbler Ridge Project

Cool, they look amazing. Can't wait for this route to be released!:udrool: Will it be payware or freeware?

I don't really have a plan for this yet since the route is still early in development by pretty much myself. I might release the route for free and the rolling stock pack as payware.

Here are some pics of messing about in TANE CE. I've had it for longer than CE, but this is the only version I can somewhat tolerate for now.

Note worthy issues so far include: mip maps being rendered incorrectly, shadows moving as you get closer, transparent textures rendering oddly, unable to rotate ground textures, and some objects with certain materials seem very washed out or too bright. Otherwise I think that with enough time, TANE will turn out to be pretty awesome to work with.

Pics of amazingness removed

I think that is a good idea because if you have the route, someone could make there own stuff for it at maybe a lower quality, or maybe I can use my PRR B1 on it if I download it.

:cool:Non-prototypical:cool:

best reason I've heard to make it payware...

matt mate I'd suggest making a short (5-10 miles) route freeware as a taster and then the full route as a payware pack. Kind of like Marias Pass in 06 IIRC

Thanks kimo! It means a lot coming from you

It's a good idea, but I'm not too sure since it's enough work as is to build the main route.

To get a good idea on how large this route is, the Cajon sub I believe is 81 miles from Barstow to San Bernardino. The Tumbler Sub (this route) is around 82-84 miles. I think the largest challenges for the route will be texturing the distant mountains, which I am currently working on, and building the Quintette coal processing plant. Believe it or not, laying catenary is pretty easy just very tedious.

Anyways, some pics from around Table Siding app MP 16.1. Back hauling empties.

god matt, you are so bad at this, just quit now before you blind everyone with this hideous route and models :hehe:

I'm HURnt

The GF6C is almost getting to a point where I'm pretty much happy with it. But there is still a cab to be made..

Oh yes and it got an upgrade. New HTC trucks by Justin that I tweaked a little bit for this model.

Some fine looking models Matt, you should be proud of you-self.Routes looking truly epic as well nice job man.

Thank you!!

I have a lot of progress done from mp 1 - 18. and I decided to see if the locomotives behaved properly on this section of track

Here we find GF6C 6005 and 6004 preparing for a trip back to the mines, back hauling 98 empty coal gondolas and 1 caboose.

Passing through wakely, the speed limit reduces to 15 mph on this wye, and the Tumbler sub officially begins at mp 1

The train is now nearing MP 16, which is where the grade begins to increase, and where trains are able to stop after entering table junction west.

The class lights should be illuminate white, stating that it's an extra train, but I have yet to set them up.

Well here are a few random bits of progress for the route. I have some good and bad news coming up later on regarding this project.
