Ts2010EE on schedule ?

I assume that TS2010 will have large routes that won't run on 32-bit operating systems. A suggestion: release two versions of TS2010 - one version with small routes for 32-bit operating systems and one version with large routes for 64-bit operating systems. The setup program should detect which version of operating system and install the correct version of TS2010.

I suppose the obvious solution for the future is not to pre-order. In fact when you think about it, pre-ordering a digital download is a bit daft (and yes I did do it :)).

LOL! I never looked at it that way, but I guess you're right indeed. It's not that there will be a limited supply so you can be guaranteed to have it first...

Must have something to do with habits and conditioned behaviour. :)

So far as I can see, there is no option on the "Your Account" page under pending orders to cancel an item and get a refund...

Is there any ways to cancel your orders, I have two faulty ones waiting PayPal confirmation, would love to get them off my list. Auran wake up, and allow us to cancel our orders.

An other drawback of preordering is that you get an FCT for 7 days which is immediately valid. When you have no Trainz the FCT is useless and my ticket is already expired ( and i hope it does not affect the download speed).

Edit: I have already received a new FCT which expires on 1/12.

I wonder where they see a problem?
There are errors in the program and Auran corrected this before the release. Is good.:)
Or they would rather download all the few weeks a SP?:o

Let Auran time.
TS2010 comes when Auran believes it is ready.:)

Let us have a look at the order page....

And looking at the bottom in detail.

If you did not want Auran to charge your card immediately you should not have clicked the 'Checkout' button. You did have a choice and you elected to let them do that.

Of course, if you didn't read any of that, then again, you have only yourself to blame.

Can we all let that little 'issue' drop now?

Mike.

I wonder what the retail box delay will be? The order pages claims 1st Dec 2009. But, if they still have a problem now how long does it take to get a gold ISO finished and off to the printer? Or are they shipping a image that will need to be patched?

Yes, but not in this case. I have no intention of cancelling, but some people seem very put out by the delays - if they feel that strongly about having to wait a couple of weeks, perhaps they should consider getting a refund. Personally I'm happy to wait.

Yup same here, although i am testing.

I have also pre-ordered the download version.

My post to you was made in jest and i have no views on the rights and wrongs of the delay.

Other than to say, the whiners need to show a bit more maturity.

It's a game, you are not waiting for a life saving operation.

IKB.

Hi,

Don,t know if things are going a bit haywire, but my 'Order History' now says processed.

I ordered the DVD and was,nt expecting it until just before Christmas.

Cheers, John

The plot thickens...

Loaded up Helpdesk to cancel my (disc) order but when I go to get the invoice number, the order is now shown as processed and has an Australian PO tracking number against it.

However when I go to the Aus PO site and input the number there's no record of it existing!

So my question(s) to Auran have to be...
1. Have the DVD versions been shipped?
2. If not how can the system generate a shipping tracking number?
3. If yes, has the 32 bit bug been fixed.
4. If no, is it too late to cancel?

I decided to cancel the order as both my PC's are 32bit only and I've no desire to waste money on a programme which requires 64 bit. And quite how a programme which has its base in the era when most of us were using Win 98 or Win ME, suddenly needs a 64bit O/S is more than a little puzzling!

A small point

Please don't start this up again!! These are only ETA's, would you rather they released before problem is sorted? John.

John.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you start this thread? The offer made to me and I think everybody else by Auran was for a release date of the 16th November 2009 and not an estimated release date.

I think it's only right and proper that people can vent their frustrations at the delay especially when they have paid for it.

I for my part will keep my counsel as my thoughts are not publishable and are probably actionable. Meanwhile I await in anticipation.

Regards

Martin

Dear Mr. Goddard,
at least Auran has charged my credit card on November 19th (I have pre-ordered on November 17th), so I think I am allowed to have some ideas about the delivery date.
Regarding the product policy I think it is a bit late now to fix some showstoppers or other major glitches in Trainz2010. And converting a delivery date into an ETA date is no help.

Best regards,
S. Nagel
Considering the low cost of TS2010 ($31 USD with my 20% voucher), I wouldn't be concerned about the charge to your credit card. Surely you aren't so strapped for cash that you will miss that small amount?

As for the "promised" release date, and customers having some say in the release date; I guess you have never worked against a deadline in your job.
You need to be on the "inside" once to know what it is like, trying to work against a deadline.
It's hard enough in production of goods, let alone software development.

Please give the guys and gals (or should I say blokes and sheilas) at Auran a break on this.
Wouldn't you rather wait a bit more for a stable product than get a troublesome one tomorrow?

FW

It absolutely does NOT require 64-bit.

Quite surprised by this reaction. Where have Auran ever stated that a 64 bit OS is required for TS 2010?

I don't know about swine flu, but release fever seems to be catching.

My order history has been put back to the 30/11/09 so its any bodies guess, but Im sure it will be worth it in the end
