Ts2010EE on schedule ?

Maybe a good sign. When you try to preorder in the shop you now "buy" the item and only the hard copy is "preorder". But that can only be a caused by the order system because the internal variable says still release 24/11 and is not updated to 01/12. :hehe:

Hi All
I will speak with the shop admin when he gets in this morning (it's 8am in Queensland...). When we do make the release for TS2010:EE, you will be sent an email notifying you of the release and we will put an announcement on the forums.

We thank you for your patience.

Zec ,

It is in the best interest of Auran to keep us informed , please continue doing so . I remember in the ' Old Days ' , posts from persons in the know were very few and far between . It was very aggrevating ! Please , simply let us know what is happening and the reasons for delays , I am able to live with that .

Hi All

The current ETA for digital downloads is the 30th of November, however this may still change, and as such we would suggest that all users keep an eye on the release date shown in their order history. I would also suggest keeping an eye on the forums, as we will announce in the announcements forum when the download is available.

I have also removed the extra threads on this subject, as we need only one thread on this. Please post any questions regarding the release in this thread, and we or members of the community will attempt to answer them as soon as possible, or you can send any questions regarding the release to the helpdesk and we will attempt to answer them as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

Read it how you will :)

BTW, not sure if ist been posted elsewhere, but the following minimum specs for 2010 were announced in todays Trainz Newsletter. Read 'em and weep...

"We are also able to announce the minimum and recommended system for running TS2010:EE:

Minimum
Windows XP (SP3)
1GB RAM
Pentium D 3.4GHz (or equivalent)
nVidia Geforce 7200/128MB (or equivalent)
15GB Free Hard Drive Space

Recomended
Windows Vista/Windows 7 (64bit)
2GB RAM
Core 2 Duo (or equivalent)
nVidia Geforce 8600 (or equivalent)

A free tip: try to buy and use a SSD.
I have a Intel 160 gb... on my Windows 7, 64 bit system.
Great speed now;)

Can someone at Auran tell me why they have removed posts from this topic?

As far as I could tell the post/s did not break any rules and yet you feel you seem to have the right to remove them......

Everyone has a right to a say on the subject and it's not fair that you can pick and choose whos stays and whos goes....:(

Thanks Zec for bringing us up to date, it must be as frustrating for you as it is for us.
I wonder if someone from Auran could confirm that Ts2010 contains 175 miles of the ECML, waiting to find this out is the most annoying part for me! If it is, a screenie or two on the Ts2010 site would be appreciated!

Thanks, John.

Flooding the forum and chat with repeat or similar meaning messages. What constitutes flooding behaviour is at the discretion of Auran staff and Auran appointed moderators.
It could be argued that 5 or 6 threads that said in essense 'where's 2010' could fall within this definition perhaps?

Anyway, questioning moderation is definitely verboten. :)

A final proper delivery date should be provided

Hi folks from Auran,

the delivery of Trainz2010 was delayed a second time now.
What about a "We deliver at November 30th or we pay your money back guarantee"?
I have pre-ordered when it was still a November 23rd delivery date. On that very day Auran said Tuesday (November 24th), now on Tuesday everthing is again postponed, this time until November 30th. I will not guess what happens on November 30th...

Please don't start this up again!! These are only ETA's, would you rather they released before problem is sorted? John.
Dear Mr. Goddard,
at least Auran has charged my credit card on November 19th (I have pre-ordered on November 17th), so I think I am allowed to have some ideas about the delivery date.
Regarding the product policy I think it is a bit late now to fix some showstoppers or other major glitches in Trainz2010. And converting a delivery date into an ETA date is no help.

Best regards,
S. Nagel

If you feel that strongly, cancel your order.

Would you rather they didn't fix some showstoppers or major glitches, and just released a known-to-be-faulty product? I'd rather wait until Auran are happy with it than end up with something that doesn't work.

How many threads are required to moan and whinge about 2010? I've come across at least 3, all of which essentially say the same things so good job that some have been deleted.

Maybe if it goes on long enough, Auran will release a bug-ridden program which will give everyone the opportunity to start new threads about how bug-ridden 2010 is and Auran shouldn't have released it until it was working properly! The threads complaining about 2009 still haven't run out of steam (pun intended).

S&C release was also delayed but I didn't feel the need to start a thread about it. I kept an eye on the updated release dates and was happy when I could download a bug free add-on.

I'm not saying Auran are faultless but how many different ways can you make the same complaint? 2010 is late.

Think I'll steer clear of any thread with 2010 in the title.

I preordered and paid Oct 23rd and there have been earlier postponements than the one you have experienced so I would have more reason to moan, would I not? John.

I would rather Auran say it won't be released untill say mid December to give them enough time to fix the "problem" and for people to still get it in time for xmas......

If they fix the problem before hand they could then release before that date.

What may be a good idea though for Aurn at this time may be to offer people that pre-ordered the download version the boxed version at no extra charge and the people that pre-ordered the boxed version a first class ticket to the same affect...

Cheers Rusty

Dear Mr. Knight,

IMHO you are missing the point.
Auran can take as much time as Auran thinks it needs to finish the product.
But Auran should then not mention any "* Release Date: 30/11/2009 (dd/mm/yyyy)" (quoted as taken today from the order history page, was 23/11/2009 on November 17th) neither charge the amount due before being able to deliver the ordered product.

Best regards,
S. Nagel

LoLz

Makes no difference to me . This ..

testing has revealed some memory issues on 32 bit machines, where the game reaches the hard limits of the Operating System.

is it not a problem for me on a 64bit machine , and I'm only going to rip the game apart and break things myself , so I'll send Chris a waiver and take my chances .. ( I've got many service packs in storage so 1 or 2 more won't make a difference :hehe: )

:D :p

The issues being fixed were, as far as I know, discovered after Auran had set a release date, and if so my point still stands - their choices were to delay the release until the problems were fixed, or release a known buggy product.

As for charging at the point of order, you have a point but Auran aren't unique in the way they do this.
