Hello,

I'm thinking of starting to trainz again and was checking out the trs 2010 version as a possible purchase. Can anyone please tell me that Auran has not discontinued access to the dls with this version? I stopped using 2006 because i could no longer access dls content and am hoping 2010 won't disapoint me :)

I'm planning on buying the downloadable version so do we get a key with that which will not fail to validate?

Thanks for any info I can get.

Robby

Hi Robby,

TS2010 is currently supported until September 2014.

As for the key, it's rare for one to not validate - most of the time, it's a case of either the server being down or selecting the wrong version of Trainz on the registration page.

thanks for the info, well it gives me a little more than a year... again Idon't agree with the fact that they disallow access to the dls but i have nothing to do about it :)

They don't actually disallow access, they simply require said users to purchase a First Class Ticket.y

It's standard proceedure for most companies I'd say.

well just puting in my 2 cents if you desiding to get 2010 it is ok but also 2012 is the better choice the spec's to run the game is the same spec's as 2010 & also joining the to together give you 2010 & 2012 built-in content in one it's worth getting them both :)

G'day Robby, I have TS10 & TS12 but for me the big advantage with TS10 is compatibility mode, I have ported all of my favourite routes from as early as trainz sp3 and utc via TRS06 to TS10 and they are all good. But it is all up to the individual and what they want. So if you want the latest and greatest and don't want any of the older classics go for TS12 but you can have the best of both worlds by getting both and having an install of TS10 for the older stuff and TS12 for the latest and greatest.

You can still use, and download for 04/06/TC 1&2/UTC ... and TS10 for many more years past 2014

09, 10, and12 have much better graphics and sound

Is it difficult to port routes and sessions made in TRS2006 and TC 1&2 to TS2010? Can it be done automatically via some utility or time consuming tweaking with individual assets is required?
