Trying to get these trains:

2900 Class 4-8-4 : kuid:59906:2925
GS-4 4449 : kuid:59906:4449

How do I get this to work?

Tried downloading via FTP and it gave me a bunch of CDP files but then i get an incomplete message. Is there an easy way to download these?

What did you do after the files were downloaded?
What is the error message?

If you have created a bunch of CDP files then the download succeeded.

Tacking your query onto the end of a very old message means it will likely be overlooked.

Sorry still new to Trainz and still finding my way around. When I check the content manager it says that it is "installed from DLS, faulty".

I have tried to edit and rebuild but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Totally agree, so have split them off and made it a new topic.

@jsohng,

Please start future support topics in the related forum. In this case I would suggest either the TANE support forum or the DLS forum.
If you don't have access to those, please send a ticket to the Helpdesk (link at the top of this page) as you should be allowed to post there.

Faulty means there's an issue with the asset that means it will not work in game. The quickest way of finding out what the problem is is to right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac - right-click may also work in Mac as well) then click View Errors and Warnings. The resulting box will give information on what is wrong with the asset.

Specifically using Windows try Firefox it has a built in file download manager.

The very easy may is to use content manager. Filter custom. Drop in the kuid number and download. It will bring in the latest version plus the dependencies.

See: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Trainz/AM&C/Fixing_Assets
The detail of the fix depends on the actual error.

Holy Mole! This is not an easy plug and play type solution. Are all versions of Trainz this difficult?

! <kuid:59906:55001> VE48: This asset uses an obsolete trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 3.5 are no longer supported.
! <kuid:59906:55001> VE86: Legacy .pm files are no longer supported. Switch to using a .lm file.

This Train is supposed to be for Trainz 2006 and I was thinking i could download and use for TANE. Does this mean that I have to get Trainz 2006 and then download? Is that version even supported anymore?? Or is my only option to try and or hope someone has made this train for TANE?

That's an old asset you are trying to use. Each of those errors has a page that describes the problem if you right-click the message and select the error help option. Also, the errors are all listed here: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Trainz/AM&C/Fixing_Assets

Most old assets work in Tane, and if they don't then there is usually an updated version available. In this case it is USA ATSF Class 2900 4-8-4 Steam Engine,<kuid2:59906:2925:1> USA SP Class GS-4 Steam Engine,<kuid2:59906:4449:1> which AFAIK should work just fine.

I am generally not that great with computers but will try this out. However, if I cant get it to work, would the easiest option be to purchase Trainz 2006 and use that? Or is that not supported any more? And would a used copy be something I could use or does it have to be an unused/unopened copy?

The easiest method is to use Manage Content to download. The content has both later versions and it requires other content in order to work. The kuid number KUID:59906:2925 you gave is the first version. KUID2:59906:2925:1 is a later version and is error free. The same for the other loco. If you use Mange Content it will bring in the latest version and all the other kuids you need to make it work. I've checked and both appear correctly in TANE without any errors.

In Manage Content select custom in the filter then drop the kuid number in the kuid number. Remove the other filters such as installed etc. Then search. Right click when it comes up and select download.

The asset provided with TRS2006 will be the same as the one you are currently having trouble with. It might work, because of a different installation method, but it would be very difficult to ensure that, and it certainly isn't the easiest solution. The easiest solution is to go back to the DLS and download the updated version of that asset, as mentioned above.
