Transfer Content from Trainz Driver Edition to TRS06?

To start it off, this is NOT the iOS/Android Trainz Driver, but the one released for PC about the same time as TRS2006.

So as some of you may know, there is content included in Trainz Driver: North American Edition that is not included in TRS2006 or some later releases, most notably the full Marias Pass Route, the BN GP38-2, and the Amtrak F40PH.

Now the question: Is it possible to transfer the content from TDE to TRS2006 (or later versions)? If so, how?

Thanks,
Matt

Yup, I think.

Copy the JA files to the TRS2006 folder. Make sure they're not named the same as the TRS2006 ones.

Delete the assets.tdx folder and the assets.bku file and then let the program rebuild the database.

This should work.

Thanks, John!

I'm seeing many JA files, spread all over the TDE directory. data.ja, trains.ja, core.ja, demo.ja.

Which ones do I copy?

From what I have heard Trainz routes are not back datable, ie: TS09 to 06 ... TS10 to 06 ... TS12 to 06

I backdate allot of assets from later versions, but it sometimes takes allot of work

The JA files have the same name as the TRS06 JA's. Do I just change the numbers and call it good?

If they have the same name, rename them to xxxx-dr206.ja or something like that so you don't overwrite the existing TRS2006 ones.

The worst thing that will happen is this won't work and you'll have to delete them.

I suggest doing a backup of your '06 directory first.

I copied core.ja and demo.ja. A renamed core to core 2, and it works! Thanks for the help, John!
