Only tried one route so far - Approach Medium's P&B - but no big issue yet. Will try other routes and report.

The PlantFactory trees and bushes will eventually replace all the SpeedTrees trees and bushes. The difference between PlantFactory and SpeedTrees is that you need you buy a license to create SpeedTrees while PlantFactory is free for all to use. The PlantFactory trees will render far better, particulatly in the distance, than the SpeedTrees do.

Nothing is deleted in the Steam and all versions of the games are stored.

I do not know exactly what this error means. An antivirus or other system protection may be blocking files from being written to the system drive.
My Steam games library is located on the "E" partition, but through the console it is always downloaded to the default Steam client installation folder on the "C" partition.
I downloaded a bunch of different games and DLCs of different versions and had no problems at all. For example, I have now loaded the Trainz 22 SP5:
If I enter the command for download Trains 22 Plus, which I did not buy, the download will be refused with this error:

Regarding poor performance in SP6.
It looks like Trainz started to reduce the load on the graphics card (GPU) and processor (CPU). Hence all the stuttering / freezes / FPS drops, etc. GPU is using only 50-60% most of the time and rarely goes to and over 70%, and even if it does, just for a split-second. And CPU is even below that. I have a pic and a vid of an example attached:
This was absolutely NOT the case with SP5. The same scene played perfectly on Ultra settings on my PC: Ryzen 5 3600x (3800 MHz), RTX 3070Ti 8GB, 32 GB RAM (3200 MHz) with GPU using over 90%. Which tells me the N3V devs did this on purpose. I guess the intent was to optimize the game but it did the absolute opposite, because on high-demanding performance-wise areas (such as larger railway stations and mountains with lots of trees) you're almost guaranteed to face this problem. I even tried to lower the settings (in-game and launcher too) to the minimum possible lever, and it still didn't work. The performance is still poor.

And always after changing game version, completely clear the game of caches and other leftovers from the other version.

I have about the same, only on i9-13980 and RTX4070
My system only has an i9-12900K and RTX3080. I also have 64 GB of RAM.
Whatever they did, they broke something. I do know they're working on a new built-in LOD, or that's what I am interpreting what I read in the newsletter. If that's what it is, that doesn't even follow their own LOD rules they set for content creators.
What might happen regarding picklists? thanks.
