Trainz Update Announcement (SP6)

At this point I'm starting to wonder if they even test their updates anymore.

My thoughts as well. Relying on public beta-testers only after a cursory internal test is pushing this product like many into the garbage bucket. This is done to save money because products being tested cost money.

N3V is caught up in the same routine as others including Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, and so many other developers. Microsoft's recent update for Windows 11 corrupts SSDs that used Phison controllers, which is a good number of major brands. I posted a link on this in the Parts and Labor forum.

To fix everything that is possible at once after update, do the following:

Close the game. In the default directory if it has not been changed: %LOCALAPPDATA%\N3V Games\trs22
Leave folders only (do not delete):

packages - Purchased content
original - Downloaded from the DLS
local - Installed from other sources
backups - Backups, if you need it

Delete all other files and folders.

After that run a DBR (or it will start automatically after run the launcher.)
and next you will need to log in to your account in the launcher and restore settings again.

As I read the reactions to the update which is not mentioned anywhere except here on the forum, I would rather not update it and wait! But it would need a few more updates and not one every two years, that is really sad development and support, while there are more problems in the game like the Dynamic Weather which was denied to us!

Or they did it on purpose so that people would buy a possible new game. And I don't hear anything from the developers! I wish they would at least apologize for this problem and fix it quickly, like in other games

A welcome update that never lived up to expectations. Shocker!!! I have to chuckle because N3V is falling into the Microsoft way of updating and patching. The only thing for me that's good about Trainz was Surveyor 2.0 (a huge selling point for my baptism of fire) but these releases that are half butt has really put me off from the entire franchise. This is the second major SP failure since I bought Trainz 22 PE on Steam last year. Look I get it not nothing of this earth is perfect (humans are flawed), but geez how can QC be this bad? 20+ years as a franchise isn't long enough to learn how to do QC?

We need better than this for my money and time.

Honestly. With how lazy N3V is these days. I'm really starting to question if us trainz players really have it better than any other simulator on the market.

This will download SP5. It will work until N3V removes it from their server.
• For Trainz Plus, don't forget to patch to 129343 (SP5 Hotfix).

Your "vaunted" testers are unpaid volunteers giving up their time to heighten our pleasure/satisfaction in this hobby of ours. Perhaps "vaunted" has been mistakenly translated. If so I apologise.

Actually with the pay to play nonsense they've gone to, you all are the PAYING testers. You get to pay them for the glory of being a tester they don't listen to!

I'm experiencing this problem after updating to build 131965, when I place something in surveyor it may or may not appear. If not, I have to save, exit and reopen surveyor to see if it's there so I can work with it or move it. I'm running 22PE in classic mode. No 2.0
It seems to be always something with this game. Frustrating.

Could you please explain this in a little more detail? I don't see sp6 in my online account or in the game. After a full data base repair the issues above seemed to have ceased for me. Maybe others should try that first.

After updating the PBR, the textures have such stripes, also the FPS dropped where it was just great.
As usual, you can't do anything right the first time... And where are the vaunted testers?

My Trainz experience dictates me not to go and hurry up updating on the first day of a Brisbane sunrise announcement. Let it ripen up for a while. After so long time waiting for the green factory, I do think I can live without it for longer.

Yes, I do know that opening our Trainz launchers and seeing that a new update is available is very tempting but I can brake down my primitive impulses thinking of the most well-known computing motto "if it works, let it go".

Thank you, It's much appreciated. I know how to do it now, if needed. After doing the full database repair SP6 seems to be faster than SP5 now. My saves are faster as well.

This worked for me, once I reverted versions everything worked as normal. Thank you!!!
