Trainz LMS Coronation Scot

They need to check their geography as they state the LNER on the East coast mainline as being in the west and the LMS on the West coast mainline being in the east !!!

I'm glad to see you're all paying close attention to the newsletter! :) I'm afraid that was my mistake, I do know one side of Britain from the other, but I obviously got my directions muddled up somehow. :o

I'm pleased to say that my counterparts in QA were much more interested in carefully testing the content than testing my description. Thanks also to the friends who've been casting a watchful eye over it's progress. You know who you are. ;)

We hope you'll enjoy the set!

Oh dear: now you've landed yourself in another geographical blunder, since neither coast nor railway exists solely in England (unless maps which show a continuation of the landmass beyond Mossband to the west and Marshall Meadows to the east are purely fictitious).

London Midland Scottish, Rob: that's what gives the game away. It's a United Kingdom, and many in its other constituent parts to the west and north take considerable exception to being nominally lumped in with their larger neighbour. ;)

Well I thought the same thing and I think I fixed it but obviously you were still typing. ;)

LOL @ you, Poul.

Would that have been the first trial run of the 'Cheltenham Flyer' service?
No, it was a scheduled service although specially staged with carefully selected loco and, probably, crew.

The Castle completed the journey in 57 minutes compared with the current timetabled 64 minutes. So much for progress.

Actually the fastest today is 55 mins, with about a dozen others under the hour mark. All stopping at Reading too, unlike the Castle..............

Back on topic, did anyone who got the newsletter and decided to buy the Duchess pack with the discount, manage to get a working link? I've had to raise a ticket as it just takes me to an expired voucher page.

Royal scot

Unfortunately the opportunity to run these coaches in the USA as took place in 1939 needs a 4 6 O with headlight..LMS man has the loco...I have one of my fathers Railway books showing the set in New York I think.

Aye well masontaylor a subtle wee dig there about many in the west and north wanting lumped in. I and many others in Brigadoon are content being lumped (!).

...only to discover that the offer had expired before the email was sent.

Pretty poor form, and that put me off, I'll wait til it's on offer again.

Nikki, I contacted the helpdesk and had the expired voucher issue solved within 48 hours. I've now downloaded the Duchess pack and have to say it's easily the best piece of payware I've bought and at just over 10 quid for a whole host of items, is fantastic value.

I would just like to give a public thanks to Zec and the team for fixing my issue.

Well this is next on my payware list.

Sad to see the old freeware version will soon be obsolete (compared to the screen-shots) but it does look nice!

Note to payware (or freeware makers). How about a deltic prototype as the next British loco? I would make it myself (if I had the time (some of us have to work to pay for these retired old gits :p )) but maybe this would be a good choice for the next project as it spans steam and early diesel times for British trainz fans.

If anyone wants to do a freeware deltic version, please let me know as I have the drawings if someone wants a go.

Regards.

P.S. Old gits is a joke. These are the people who lived steam and can teach us `young un's` how things used to be.
P.P.S. I am nearly 40 myself :'( so not so young.

Not a bad suggestion there CaptE.

For future N3V payware, I reckon an A4 must be on the cards at some point.......

I'd rather see a P2, in all 3 of it's guises.

But either way, alex23 is going to feel rather victimised I'm sure :D

(His existing model is ok, but it's not error free, and tbh visually isn't as stunning as is possible anymore)

I've already done D9009 in two-tone green and as 55009. 55002 in two-tone is also on the DLS by another creator. I'll have a go at the prototype, but in paintshed only. I'm not that good with anything else yet. I can't promise anything.

Given that DP1 doesn't quite match the physical dimensions of the production deltics (and of course, there's that darned fake-headlamp fixture), a simple reskin is never going to be as accurate as a properly done DP1 model would be. But it would do for the time being, I'm sure.

Great thing about DP1 is that we have 2 routes to run it on - it spent most of its career on the SnC (pretty much in the time period SnC models too), but did do a few 'high speed' runs on the ECML as well (although that's well out of place era-wise for the TS2010/TS12 ECML).

That's what I thought but forgot to add to my post!

@stationmistress

Thanks for the offer and please do an repaint (but only if you want to!). If you need any photo scanned, please let me know and I will try to PM you some pictures.

It may take a week or two as I'm still installing Trainz 2012 into my new P.C. and correcting the `New` errors that it now finds from my vast collection of rolling stock and routes from Trainz 2010.

Oh, the joys of each new version of Trainz and old downloaded favourites that need modifying again. :p

Regards.

I know tmz06003 is on a sabbatical at present, but I think one of his 55s is going to make the best DP1. It would however, need the headlight added for it to be a true representation. The built-in ones lack the detail to be a truly acceptable asset for today's standard.

As some of you will know, I've done a few reskins recently but there is so much more I'd like to do but this too often relies on liberal doses of fiction... Sorry, I've just realised this has nothing to do with the thread topic. I'm off for some wine.
