G'Day, In the Q&A section of this "Trainz Life-Cycle Policy" it states:-
"Q: I recently bought a copy of an unsupported product. Will you give support? A: No. We will not sell products which are nearing the end-of-support date. It may be possible to purchase such a product from a third party through a bargain-bin outlet or similar, however we can not offer support for these products. We expect that the product will continue to operate as normal, and hope that you enjoy your experience with the product will be sufficiently enjoyable that you'll decide to upgrade to one of our supported products." Yet I purchased UTC from the Auran shop less than four weeks from the discovery of this policy and NV3 are still selling the products in their shop. Seems to be in contradiction to what is said.

Barrie,
It's a bit misleading to inferring that you purchased UTC as separate stand-a-lone from NV3/Auran recently. NV3 haven't sold UTC by it self for years. You obviously purchased the Trainz Collection which has UTC bundled into it, along with 06, 04, Routes 1-4 & Paintshed.
It's like the recent "purchase TS2010" and well throw in 2004 to get rid of them. (04).
Cheers, Mac...

Still? I thought they were withdrawn a few days before the announcement...

And why would anyone buy UTC now? 04 I can understand (even though it is almost 7 years old), but UTC?

Paul

All Trainz versions were available for at least a week after they acknowledged dropping support for them here. I know because I was going to buy a back up of 04 and TC after the announcement and they were all still there. Not sure about UTC but 04 and up were.

Dave....

OK, I stand corrected it was Trainz collection that I purchased from the Auran shop. The point still stands, they still were selling them when they clearly say that they were not and are still selling them VIA the NV3 shop.

paulzmay, what's wrong with UTC, me and my young bloke have a ball running it, just it is an older version does not make it unusable nor unplayable. Maybe tiny trains is just UTC revamped.:hehe:

Nothing wrong with it, but I just can't see that it has any advantages over later versions. I was always a bit mystified at it's inclusion in the collection.
