Trainz 2006 sucks!

I really hate Trainz 2006 now.

Running as Administrator does not resolve my Content Manager Issue, so while everyone else has endless possibilities I'm stuck like a idiot not being able to have the full experience, I feel like it's a demo even though it's the full version!

Sorry about that. Seems some one has taken you if you just bought the 2006. That is old and not even supported anymore. Should get 2010 or 2012.

I suspect the "you" in your statement means Auran (or N3V, now). In this forum, you aren't talking to anyone in management or ownership of the game products. The forum is a collection of enthusiasts (or not so enthusiastic sometimes) who have the game(s) in common. What Lewiscc65 said before is probably true. Did you purchase the game at a discount table for a very low price? If so, then you did purchase a game that isn't supported any more. TS2010, TS2012 are now active and supported. All is not lost, however. If you purchase a newer version (I recommend TS2012) then you will be able to use TS2006 and access the download station. Having a later version of the game lets this happen.

TRS2006 is the most user friendly version, although not as good of graphics as TS09,10,12.
My CMP works flawlessly, and surveyor is a breeze.
04,06 works on low end PC's that have integrated graphics.
I have no idea why you have a problem with TRS2006 ... I LOVE it ! ! !
Unsupported as it is ... it works fantasticly !

Without a FCT, and or, a higher version of Trainz, you can not download in TRS2006. (I tink' ... is dat' right) ?

If you buy a FCT, you can download using TRS2006. (A one year FCT is @ 0.06 cents per day).

Also by buying a higher version of Trainz, you can also download using the TRS2006 CMP.

I use TRS2006 surveyor to build routes (as it is so easy to use) .. and import them to run in TS10.

Just trying to help you with TRS2006, to release a little bit of the "suction" from this thread ... feel free to PM me and I will assist you with TRS2006.

I don't think it totally "socks" ... it just might be a like a little teeny tiny vaaccuumm cleaner.

Look at the great work Mezzoprezzo does using TRS2004

Everything is relative. When TRS2006 came out, it was state-of-the for Auran at the time. Sadly, the technology industry moves very quickly so even if something was current only 5 years ago, it's now considered old.

By reinstalling '06 in a folder of its own, outside of c:\program files (x86), and running as admin, you should be able to get CMP to work. If you look at the '06 support forums, you might find some help.

There are some advantages to 2006. For example, the Talyllyn Railway's website has a page where you can download some trainz content that only works in 04/06 so if you're into those, it's worth keeping on.
