Hi Neil, I am downloading the assets now and the signals are dls do not download... I'll try to these once its they are finished. Btw, is there any way to download your route directly from CMP (without going on the dls site)?

I'm still using 04, so I have no real idea how CMP works.

I'm hoping that once the dls comes back up (if it ever does) the problems should be solved.

There is no third party site that is hosting it right now.

If we can't get anything accomplished with the dls, then maybe we can look at a third party host, but let's give the dls a chance first.

How do you search for it though; I click on Download station, then under the search part in cmp i set up to search by AuthorID and nothing comes up

Well, this was really just a challenge I gave to myself to see how I would do at a prototypical-ish route. I think the only reason it came out looking fairly recognizable is because I've lived in the area for my entire 38 years - and even this local area took a fair amount of research.

There is potential for expansion in the southern Ontario area, but for now, I think I'll give it a rest, as I was suffering from builder's-burnout near the end of the process. Hope everyone understands.

All I can say is WOW....You did a really really nice job on it and this is one I run a lot now....I love the CN and this fits perfect seeing that its a CN route...Thanks again for making such a GREAT route....This one was really worth the getting

Just out of interest, have you downloaded the signal pack I mentioned earlier? For some reason they don't always download very well from the dls, but there is a direct link here. I wonder if one of these is the asset that's fouling things up...

Very good work! I'm amazed what you did with available content.
I just have to sort out the ericazo(sp?) content, all those assets list each other as the missing dependencies.

Do you have any plans for any extensions to this route? I would love a Niagara Falls extension or perhaps the line toward Kingston, Montreal. And, don't forget the 401! I'll build it myself if I have to. Is this route made with DEM or flat baseboards? Toronto is a nice city but there's gridlock like NY, and people honking at each other. My Mom was nervous driving in one part near the lakeshore just west of the downtown area where cars were up against one another and honking. It was my first time to Canada, July 10-15 2006 we visited Kingston, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. We drove up from Allentown, PA to Thousand Island Bridges where we met Canada Immigration and they made us go into the building to be checked further. We had every form of ID on us. It was almost midnight. Finally, we passed the Welcome to Ontario sign. Then, for the first time in our lives we faced km/h signs. 100 km/h seems fast like Autobahn but it's really 62-65 mph. We went down the 401. We did the 1000 Islands boat, the ferry to Centreville amusement park on Toronto Island, rode the Haunted Barrel Works and the train. We got scared at Niagara Falls in the several haunted attractions on Clifton Hill. Going back into the States was easy. The officer just said "Citizenships?" looked at just our driver/non-driver ID cards and let us in. NF NY is a dump except for the state park. Too bad passports for land travel will be required soon. Oh, yeah, don't forget Tim Horton's! Someone should do one in Trainz. I made a PetroCanada gas station by reskinning a BP one from the DLS. And why are restrooms called "washrooms" in Canada? And Center is spelled Centre? And in Celsius, 32 is hot, like 85F to us, and 32F to us is the freezing mark.

However, The nightmode is all wonky... :'( Something to do with the reskinning job overlapping the boundaries (whole skin is part of the same file) of the various lit up components?

And why are restrooms called "washrooms" in Canada? And Center is spelled Centre?

Washroom is actually a US word originally, and Canadians picked it up. But "restroom" later came along in the US and W/R disappeared from common use there but canadians never took up "restroom." Incredibly, Australians did though, I think. As for "center/centre", Noah Webster reformed spellings in the US to distinguish it from the British Empire, which Canada was a part of.

The route was not done with DEM - it is predominently flat anyway, with some minor ups and downs, which I just "estimated". I guess it's always possible to extend the route, but as I'm trying to keep it to scale, East to Kingston or Montreal is a little bit much. Right now, I'm just taking a break from building.

If you wait long enough, I will be releasing my Toronto Subway System V3.0 in the New Year. It includes all 7 GO lines, Lakeshore West, Milton, Georgetown, Bradford, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, and Lakeshore East.

But heh if you want Niagara to Montreal then go for it and try and do it yourself, see what you can come up with, and it also might be fun do do.

When in the New Year? January? Will your route be as good as this one? Will it go west to Hamilton-Aldershot and east to Oshawa? You know, there was a Toronto Trainz route released with Lakeshore West and East but there were too many grade crossings and Union Station wasn't done right, not supposed to be grade crossings there on either side. It just didn't seem right, but these layouts look much better. I could just extend yours or the other one to build to Niagara or Kingston, etc. and beyond. It would just take a while doing it by hand.

Will it be better than this one.....that is almost impossible to answer..but because I made it of course it will be better . This route covers the complete GO System (not the Busses) from on end to the other and all the north routes. As I said before all 7 lines. Right now I am just uploading all the custom objects to the DLS. I will put the route up for downloading (not neccesarily on the DLS as it is 48meg ) sometime at the end of January.

Hi Guys!

I've reinstalled Trainz to put SP1 in. So I've used this route before but I must redownload. But here are some WIPs that'll fit into this route:

Tell me what you think. I've been on these cars before. They're reskins of Peter D Hick's UK MK4 coaches(The renaissance cars are based on the MK4s)

Here is the real one:

The Story: VIA's new "Renaissance" trains on display at Ottawa station: these trains use the vehicles originally intended for "Nightstar" overnight service through the Channel Tunnel. The warning signs about overhead wires are not entirely redundant, as the train might run into a platform in Montreal that has 25kV power.

I think they look great. I tried to make some LRC's myself but I gave up because I would need a lot of time, patience and practice to make a good looking version of them (and they have an odd, hexagonal-like shape, so to start from scratch = ugh). Regardless, I think your cars hold a lot of promise. If I could make a few suggestions (you obviously have more talent than I do in this area) I'd suggest these three things:

1) rework the doors to teal as they aren't grey/red/white as per your pic
2) change the black Canada font to white (as per your pic )
3) if you can manipulate those bogies, make them darker and grimier (I haven't been on those cars but as you have been on them and I have been on several LRC cars, VIA lets them get fairly dirty and grimey! )

Even if you didn't do these changes, I can almost guarantee you that I'd use these cars fairly frequently. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Yes I got to get 'rid of that BR UK intercity logo and change the door colors. Refer to the thread that says New VIA Rail Coaches. I plan on a Sleeper, Service/Snack car, and a Via 1 car as well as a regular coach class car.
