Nobody have any questions, besides this is for sure gonna blow up my Computer?

One of the things that got me thinking here was WCL posting about the LS&I route cyber tour. That got me on a couple day long search on google. I found this guy who has been taking pictures of the LS&I for about 30 years. He has a photo album on flicker. Somethings, many details, I have to change on the origional route. I mean this guy has pictures of himself in the cab of an LS&I train ready to get loaded at Empire....I need to do some track changes and a little scenry. I've already changed most of the bridges. But, them photos really got me thinking...he's been documenting that line for so long with nearly 400 photos..I should do the same. And any "artistic" funning and trainz simming would have to go elsewere.

The one thing really holding me up in the towns and cities is not the buildings....but I'm using the Yarn road network...and i really need some other then 90 degree intersections. 45 degree Intersections. I know it's been a shout out for years, but look at the dem. It's 45 degree intersections everywhere.

I must tell you that it's impressive to see the work you've done, and thank you for sharing your technique as well as a wealth of information regarding the route itself and how it translates to Trainz. I can't help with the 45 degree intersections, but you've been posting for awhile without response, and I didn't want you to begin to feel like some 'nutball' rambling on to himself in the street!
Although a 'nutball' you may well be, taking on a project of this size!
Carry on; I'll be the guy walking down the street behind you at a safe distance...:D

Proper intersections (45-degree ones included) will be included as part of my YARN2 reworking (moving up to prototypical, plus more) of the original YARN road network. It is about time that I got back to that project any way, as I have already had my few days off from content creation just now. :o :p ;)

Regards.

It's a good thing I'm doing this.....

Getting the line over to Humboldt I mean...let me up load a couple pics and fill you in on the details.

Humboldt, MI

Looking at this shot you are looking due west towards Michigamme, MI and downtown Humblold.

The line comming in on the lower left is old WC/CN line and I'm trying to identify the industry which was served between here and West Ishpeming. Now the line on the lower right that is current LS&I track which is shared by the CN heading west to the top right. The Old Humboldt Mine Line on the top left heads about 2 Miles back to the Humboldt Mine Site where the Mill still stands. This mill is currently being opened back up by Kennecott(sp) with their Eagle Mine Project, Nickle, Copper...a little gold.

So this line might acutally be going back in....I've read numbers anywhere from a high spending here of 400 some odd million to 80 million. Which is good news.

It would be a so much needed addition to trainz, at least as far as I'm concerned.....along with a couple other thousand or two people here.

In case you didn't notice...

I have a grass pattern of three colors I'm using on this route kinda like feathering in the track. I cut and pasted the texture from over near Negaunee by the Harris Yard and peppered it all the way back over here along the line....20 Miles or so...doesn't matter it's the same pattern down in Marquette. This is a tricky pattern to do...you want it to0 no matter how you spin it, "[", or not spin it to look natural with no lines or reproduction visable. Good luck! But when you get it right you can lay down a sqaure mile of paint texture every 10 sceconds.

It is isn't it?

Great looking grass, wawasoo. :D ;)

Regards.

Few trees.....some grass spin it into the road side, track bed. It looks good.

But what to do with that Lumber Mill where the Negaunee High School is. I went on the web and jumped on CNs' website and looked at the track map and they are still showing a yard up there, not a High School. Along with the Negaunee Beef-A-Roo, I didn't find a Neguanee High School at the download station either.

So something will go there.....I just aint to sure what yet...

Wasn't kidding about a square mile in 10 seconds.

I could do more. Just lay out a big area recopy and paste it up as big as I wanted. After the rail and roads are in....of course.

For now you guys just keep practicing feathering in your track...you get good enough and I'll show you how to lay down that feather at 200 miles an hour. Just like a high speed video action game.

For my under cover lover.

I can get it up, but this cum-putter can't handle it. Not 7 Million of them [trees]..........Let me get my I-7 next fall and I"ll blow your f'n mind.... Cause this is what it really looks like up here

....forget what you been looking at, but my cum puter just won't do it. I need to SLI 3 or 4 graphics cards. Or wait a cycle till the new stuff comes out....and it's a done deal. Your Mine.

I had a really good woods mix going......

That I cut and pasted all over the place....tall to mid sized....but that stupid looking cedar I use...I use it because every time I plant one it's a different height. Why does that do that. You know color [shape] contrast and texture......I get different shapes with that same tree...little...medium, big.

Why so with that mesh?
