Just in case you thought I was kidding.

I've been working on this scene for about an hour and 1/2. The stats show that their are 24,924 speed trees within my view radius, in front, left right and back I'm set at 3,000 meters.

In case you were wondering.....

There isn't going to be a Beef-A-Roo Restaurant in Negaunee either. I just Checked the down load station....and there wasn't one.

What you want to do.

You want to find three colors; first get as close to you track ballast color as you can...then get to green in three colors.

There are no rules for this, or automatic color selection. YOU will find them by trial and error. But there is a rule....each color should be really close to the other when spun. Here are mine for this route. From dark to green.

What I mean when I say "spun"

I selected my second to darkest color, held my finger down on the "[" key, which causes my paint brush to spin and zoomed out and above of the area I intend to work on.

Then with my brush spinning I grab my mouse working from left to right, right to left...sweeping fast accros the track area....letting off on the left mouse button kinda, "flicking paint on the screen" Until I've blended out the square paint. It's important you do this looking down at this point zoomed all the way out, paint zoomed all the way out in it's largest scale..spinning the brush.

Continue with all your colors going to green.

It's ok if you screw up...you go back to dark to light.....practice. When you get it right there are no squares of paint.

The reason why...

The reason why you do this zoomed out, directly above is that is the worst position you can put youself in Trainz to view a sceen... My reasoning is, if it look good up here what does it look like down there?

After much thought....

Mostly about all the track is in. Now what do you do?

I found myself changing this route in ways that just weren't natural...and the industries were all going to get jammed up in a 40 square mile area around Ishpeming & Negaunee. It was getting hard to figure out how to do all that with a short line railroad.

The Answer...MERGE.

I Merged in another dem by fishlipsatwork on the down load station and after cropping out the overlap...I got a really good knit.

The origional dem was completed as far as track goes.

But I really wanted more industry...and craming it all in there wasn't going to work so...all the added industry in this dem will get cut an pasted out of the here and put into areas where they should be with the addition.

The first extension with be....

Over towards Humboldt, MI and down towards Republic Junction. Where LS&I, CNR Join with Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad Co. near Republic, MI.

This is the first of 2 connections on this line between the CNR & E&LS.

A look at L'Anse, MI to the southesast

and Baraga, MI across the bay. That body of water between them is Lake Superior..the same Lake Superior that is in Marquette, MI down at the ore dock. It's a big lake...in case you don't know.
