It ALLWAYS showed assets correctly (up and untill till this month), before Auran messed with things ... NOW, Auran has really screwed things up ... and way before September !
No you're wrong - there are plenty of assets in TRS2006 which say there is an update available when there isn't. Have a look at eldavo's stuff for one. It isn't a new thing.
The asset I've downloaded from your screeny <kuid2:61556:24400:1>, says update available in TRS06 CMP, but it is the latest version in TS2010. Either way it is there and can be downloaded in both versions. I know because I've just done it. It's there on FTP also.

OK ... then why were all of Seniorchiefs assets there a week ago, and were readily ready for download, without an update ... and NOW ...ALL his assets are disabled with no update available. Now I can't download any one of them ... they are all disabled suddenly ! What happened ?

Obviously not, as I have today downloaded that asset using TRS06 CMP - with the update available icon showing. It is not disabled. TS2010 tells me there is no update to that asset. A search of the DLS also shows this.
My TRS06 CMP is listing assets up to 23 May 2010. You?
I have just downloaded some more "obsolete" assets from mick1960 in TRS2006 CMP, uploaded on 23 May 2010. Guess what? No problems, and there are no updates to these assets either.
I don't suppose any of this will register with you, though I can but try.

Because my CMP won't update, at all.
I have no update capability !
It has just occured to me that mp CMP is no longer Updating when the CMP starts up.
So how do I regain my Updating capability ?
By deleteing the Assets tdx & bku files ? I would hate to have do that !

Possibly an apology to Auran may be in order and perhaps a personal resolution to admit to yourself that you may have been the one at fault.
As a matter of interest, CM3.2 shows 125153 DLS items, doesn't look like any wholesale deletion is taking place.

You get engaged in 1991, and your GF gains 180lbs, but never gives birth, as the extreme weight gain is from twinkies and bon bons.
And in 2010 are still no closer to getting hitched to her, than physically attempting to flapping your arms and trying to fly your way to Australia, against a headwind, during the monsoon season.
Your GF who started out her regularly daily routine, when she got out of bed and tripped over her two own feet, because her two shoes were on the opposite feet, blaming it on the fact that one shoe is a high heel shoe and the other is a sneaker.
I swear she has one shoe nailed to the floor, as she keeps perpetually spinning in circles, and screws up six ways to sunday, six times per hour of each and every day.
Now she accepts the 14th collect phone call today, from her son who is calling from a jailhouse payphone, and it's only 9:30 in the morning.
Her 29 y/o son is addicted to heroin, and asks for $ 1000 bail money, and procaims he is totaly innocent, as he was framed by the coper's. Explaining that he got arrested for the 4th time this month, for stealing the money donation jar from the store counter, that was intended for the 5 y/o kid who needs cancer treatment.
He is repiticious, making the same mstakes over and over again, but commits the same offence(s) at the local 7-11, on 3 different dates, and at the same store location.
Her son got thrown out of the local halfway house-drug rehab, and moved back home. He, along with 3 other ex-cons, who also got thrown out of the same halfway house, now they are all happily living at my GF house, that resembles a pig sty and a zoo.
Her PC has strange new social networking site icons on the desktop, and contains newly installed programs that are suspicious, with brand new malware, and virus that needs to be removed daily.
Her 29/yo son can't remember to close the yard gate, and the two dogs got out of the yard, and are now roaming the nieghborhood streets.
So I got a new GF ... and she had bariatric surgery which was as entailed as a complete gastroectomy. She lost 127 lbs inside of 13 months, but looks extremely malnourished and peaked,, She now has E-Coli and is highly contagious ... so I can't see her in person, fearing possible infection to myself.
So I got a new GF, who I loaned $ 1000 to ... and she now proclaims that she has been diagnosed with cancer, and cannot repay me for the loan.
So I get a new Windows 7 PC, one to replace the Vista machine, which replaced the XP machine ... etc ...
I start up the PC, and say to it: "Computer ON". And just like in "2001 Space Odyesy" the PC (HAL) says ..."I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that".
I get Trainz to operate through my firewall as rule exceptions, and it commonly freezes, stutters, and crash's.
And when it does run, I go to the CMP and try to download some assets, and the "Updates Available" clearly aren't available, and hundereds of assets are not downloadable, as the URL can not be found.
Auran has informed us that 04/06 will be unsupported come September, so I am downloading like a madman, trying to get the assets before the unsupport date.
I now know how it feels to be the purchaser of a brand new Saab automobile, when the company suddenly and unexpectedly went belly up and ceased to exist.
I fully expect hear that Bill Gates is selling out Microsoft, and that I will be informed that my Windows 7 OS will be obsolete, and that I need to purchase a new fangled new 2010 PC.
I think I'll buy the new TS2010, so as to avoid all the 04/06 worries, that have been putting so much stress on me since I learned of the planned unsupport.
So I sit at my PC trying to have fun, playing with Trainz Simulator, as entertainment, as an escape from my worldly worries, and daily new PC and Trainz problems keep on cropping up ...ARrrrgGH !
My Mom who is virtually an invalid, is 93, and has been moved into a nursing home in Nebraska.
After shelling out $ 1000, and $ 1800, and another $ 3000 this month alone, she suddenly got heart arrithmia, requiring a pacemaker.
After she recooperated, we got her into the nursing home, but she again got the heart affibulation, and is now in a Nebraska Emergency Room.
Even though she only spent one night and one day in the nusing home, and she is presently in the hospital ... the nusing home still wants the $ 2255 for next month rent.
So I sit at my PC in far away PA, trying to cope, while my life is up in the air, and my PC is somewhat uncontrollable and Trainz is uncooperative.
Sometimes I think I'll shelf Trainz, and go back to Model Railroading. But termites would probably infest and eat my plywood train platform, and it would get all warped, and have derailments galore.
All I want do is to be able to run my Choo Choo coal train around a little oval of track.
Not to mention my favorite YouTube video has been removed: Hitler Hates DCC-"This video contains content from Constantin Film, who has blocked it on copyright grounds".
One good thing is that I haven't seen any Brown Marmorated Stinkbugs that infested the house for several years, knock on wood ... Uh Oh, Spoke too soon, there's one climbing the wall right now.
EDIT: I sat up all night hand scrolling through the entire DLS ... and there are still lots and lots of assets that refuse to update, and are presumably not available to anyone. More and more I think that switching to TS2010 is the better alternative ... as this is not fun !

I have had this happen to me as well - sometimes dragging the asset (when it is showing the Update Available icon) onto the Download helper panel sometimes allows it to download - even some unknown assets have been known to download this way (I have found that sometimes the latest version is already installed though as part of another asset)
Ultimately though, if CMP is not showing all the assets, sometimes repairing the database is the best option (that does mean deleting assets.tdx and assets.bku (TRS2006 only) then go into Trainz for it to re-create the files - it will take a while to load though.
Once this is done, loading CMP should then trigger an 'Updating Trainz Asset Database' box - wait for this to disappear before using CMP.
In TS2009/TS2010 the process is similar, but instead of deleting assets.tdx and assets.bku you just use the Repair Database (Extended) option in Content Manager, then close and reopen Content Manager and see if the problem is fixed.
