Route Transfer 2019->2022 Major Texture Issue

When I CDP transferred a route from 2018 to 2022 The grass texture was changed to a terrible representation of grass. I then deleted every element I could find related to the transferred route in 2022 and tried again. Same thing. A look around showed that "in general" only this texture failed the transfer. I then cleaned every reference of the route from 2022 and tried the CDP transfer again with the same result. The texture is not the issue. The issue is the USE of that texture based upon the content of the CDP. One morning shot with negative results..

Very frustrated is a mild expression of my feelings.

The grass is the default texture on blank baseboards and most likely substituted for something else you had.

If you see the grass on your blank baseboards, there are three ways to fix that:

1) Replace the region for a like region with the grid as the default texture.

2) Select the grid texture and make your brush as big as possible and paint the landscape. (Don't touch the scale!)

3) Press the F9 key, the one that used to only switch between grid and hidden view.
By pressing the F9 key, you can switch between the default green texture and the grid in addition to the invisible mode.

AAH Ha, default texture. That explains what it is but why was it substituted as a result of a CDP transfer will be one of those forever mysteries. Anyhow, it resists all efforts to replace it with something less bland. I am developing in 2019 and wanted to see what it looked like in 2022. "Curiosity killed the cat". Since the graphics features of 2022 are of no interest to me it is not a big deal except if the problem was created IN 2019. Then on some dark day, when I need to restore 2019,_____________________.

These are the times, that if I expressed my frustration, my account might mysteriously vanish. I would have to get a new IP address and sign in as "Vladimir what's his name".

I think it was in TRS19 when the green mush appeared smothered over the terrain when new baseboards were added on to an existing route. The problem I have with the green mush, that is a poor replacement for grass, is that it hides important terrain details that the grid shows.

I turned down the graphics in TRS22 and Plus. I find the PBR textures really push my video card hard and aren't all that impressive in my opinion especially with the jellyfish guts that appear on embankments and when they cause older textures to float on top like pond scum. By lowering the graphics to "Basic", PBR textures can still be used but the 3d effect, and all the extra work the computer is doing, is mitigated. This allows for the best of both worlds.

The Magic Touch: J Citron fixed my problem by simply messaging me. Amazing! After posting I took one more look at the 2022 version that was CDP transported. Lo Lo & Behold the grass is now the specified type. Thanks for the Magic Touch". Or it may have been one of those tasks at the bottom of the running "to-do" list and it took time to get to it. With N3V you need all flavors of patience.

The spell has evaporated. I just tried to transfer, via CDP, the route to TS2022 after several edit changes. Well, the "slime" turf reappeared. Made CDP of texture and physical changed, load it into TS2022 and the same slime appeared in place of grass. Guess I will just stay with TS2018. May just cancel my TS2022. It is very hard to break a habit of many years to always have the latest "stuff". Just have to accept some TS2002 bugs that will never be fixed.

Note: I did not see any visual improvement between the two versions when the CDP did work. The TLR and other projects carry their own set of bugs - revealed and yet to be found.

Check that your intended textures aren't open for edit. As you know if they're opened for edit, then they won't be used.
