While I do have a FCT, I also want to thank the N3V team for listening to the Community and taking the necessary action to assist Trainzers obtain the DLS content they need for their enjoyment.

I got rather angry at one point but once I found out what was going on decided to wait patiently.
Auarn/N3V seem to have fixed the problem, so they do listen, contrary to many people's beliefs.
I have and FCT and would not want to be without one. I can recommend getting yours if you haven't yet, the difference is startling.

I want to add my vote of thanks.

One question, how come tyhat some new content, such as that from JCayena, which has been on the DLS for 3/4 months, still shows up as red in the download helper in content manager?

I'll add a tip of the hat to N3V as well. When I first got TRS12 I couldn't download anything, and it kind of put me off. But now - it's night and day. I was able to update all the items in the excellent Junction Kit and associated items (by Andi06) via CM yesterday without a hiccup. It went slowly (no FCT [yet]), but that was OK as all I did was drag and drop what I wanted to the download window and then go do some other things for a while. Nothing stalled out, everything updated and installed fine, and it all shows up in Surveyor, so I'm happy.

I'm extremely impressed with Trainz in general. I have some idea of what it takes to make this kind of software do what it does, and IMHO, what this program achieves is pretty amazing.
 
I agree! They've done a great job keeping the hamsters fed and their wheels well oiled. Let's hope the critters don't get lazy again! :)

Don't worry - I am familliar with that error.

Does it affect a few, some, or all assets?

If it affects all assets you try and download, try a database repair.

Somehow I get the feeling that some people think I am talking about content that I have already downloaded.

So from the start and by the numbders:

1. When connected to the DLS I click on the dowbload(helper) tab of an asset I want to download.

2. CMP opens up and the item is listed in the "download helper" list.

3. When clicking the start button, some of the listed items turn red, indiocating that they are nowhere to be found onthe DLS

I know that when new assets get uploaded to the DLS the have to be verified first and they also turn red sometimes, but a few days later they are ready for download. However there are assets. specially those of JCayena that still "cannot be found on the DLS" after 3-4 months.

Somehow I don't think a darabase repair on my part is going to fix THAT problem.

I want to add my thanks to Auran/NV3 for the renewal of the DLS for users without an FCT ticket and not have the server message coming up every time I tried to download an asset. I have now been able to download all the missing dependencies that I had... It is still infuriating though to find some dependencies quoted as 'unknown' and not on DLS.
