texture problem

This may be in the forum somewhere already, if so, sorry. I am trying to texture a fairly large layout and my textures will not "stay" once I have placed them. Some will, some won't. For example, if I have 12 boards or grids 6 on top and 6 on bottom and I start putting say dirt texture in them, when I get the bottom six textured and start across the top six boards surveyor will knock out the texture on one of the bottom boards or grids. Anyone else ever see have this problem or is it just me?

you are covering the boards in one go? If so i remember something about you need to paint a small amount of the texture the base board first.
