Surveyor module version differences

I currently own Trainz 1.5. I have been working with the Surveyor module for 2 days using it to help design a layout for a garden railroad that I want to build this summer (G Scale). Have there been any "improvements" or changes to the surveyor module in Trainz 2004 or 2006? I read the manual for Trainz2006 albiet somewhat quickly and there doesn't appear to be any changes. However, I am prone to overlook things, thus the reason for this post.
