Straight out of the Cahdboard Bahx - Something for Fellow Bostonians

Here's a little something you commuter nuts can look forward to. A circa 1970's - 80's MBTA F40PH. These have the familiar "Easter egg" paint schemes that the early E9's had, with the increased amount of "get the hell out of the way" yellow on the front. These are early progress shots just to get some of you kiddies excited.

The final model will include-

  • Fixed ARN
  • Front hood marker lights/boxes
  • "Ghetto grills"
  • No dynamic break vents
  • No emergency light
If all goes well, the set will include newly-modeled, highly detailed Horizon coach cars (and perhaps cab cars, in the future).

For the gimmiepigs: This is not available yet, and when it is, it will be payware. The route is George Fisher's beautiful Morris & Sussex route, and I have no idea where any of the scenery came from.

  • I do, indeed, intend to paint all the progressive skins. I've started from the early 1970's skin, and will paint all the way to the new, updated scheme some of you are familiar with today.
This is just the first of some new, exciting passenger equipment Jointed Rail will be bringing you. With Nick Vezmar on the team, Amtrak fans should be especially excited. Save your pennies, kids!
